Description

Le Maine Giraud XO Cognac

A 25-year-old Cognac, this XO blend represents the quintessence of Le Maine’s art. Its aromas behold those to be expected of a well-aged Fins Bois Cognac, revealing distinct woody notes of cedar and oak. Selected by the cellar master for their utmost finesse, the eaux-de-vie of this blend spent a staggering 25 years aging in oak casks, hence such a high-quality result.

Born from the unique idea of combining a love for Cognac with a unique architectural and literary heritage – Maison Maine Giraud is centred around innovation. In fact, each plot of the estate is unique to another, allowing for one-of-a-kind, refined blends that differ from the rest.

Presentation of the bottle

Appearing in a traditional style Cognac bottle, this XO is an emblem of the brand's heritage paired with four generations worth of savoir-faire dating back to 1938. With its unique shape and smooth curves, the bottle’s appearance is bold yet elegant, and a gold stopper and royal blue accents on the label work remind us of Cognac’s refined finesse. The matching royal blue presentation box is an opulent finishing touch, ideal for those selecting this Cognac as a gift.

How to enjoy

Such a beautifully-aged 25-year-old Cognac merits a tasting at room temperature in its purest form – neat. If you have tulip glass, the slim neck of this type of glass will allow the aromas to evolve and develop to their utmost potential. Let the delicious nectar sit in the glass for a few minutes before bringing it to your lips to start the tasting.

About Maine Giraud Cognac

Owned by the Durand family since 1938, the cognac house and winery of Le Maine Giraud was once the home of the famous French poet, playwright and novelist Alfred de Vigny in the 1800s. One of de Vigny’s most well known poems is titled La Mort de Loup (The Death of the Wolf). This poem was written in Le Maine Giraud in Charente. Twenty kilometres south of Angouleme at Champagne-Vigny, the chateau is surrounded by forty acres of vineyards where today, as for many hundreds of years, the grape is grown in a traditional manner, just like in the days of de Vigny, to create cognac, wine and Pineau des Charentes.
