Description
Two Regions, One Classic XO Cognac
Combining eaux-de-vie from the Grande Champagne and Fins Bois growing regions, the Larsen XO Cognac is a blend aged for at least ten years in French oak. While the Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie gives lightness and smoothness, Fins Bois provides classic fruit notes - the balance of the two here is flawless. Furthermore, distillation without the lees and a maturation period in specially-sourced oak casks ensures a superbly drinkable result. Larsen Cognac only uses barrels crafted from fine-grained sessile oak (Quercus Petraea) from the Tronçais forest in central France, where the ancient trees express a low level of tannins. The wood also brings out an exceptional sweetness after being toasted at Larsen’s cooperage. After maturation, the eaux-de-vie are carefully blended by Master Blender Robert Andrieux to achieve the classic Larsen style: elegant and fruity with a clean finish.
The history of Larsen Cognac dates back to the early decades of the 20th Century, when a 24-year-old Norwegian skipper from Tromsø, Jens Reidar Larsen, left home in search of a new life in the Americas. Along the way, his boat made a stopover in Bordeaux for essential repairs, and the industrious Jens Reidar decided to make the most of the opportunity, seeking work in a nearby town. It was here that he found his new life - falling in love with a local girl as well as the local spirit - and he never got back on that boat. After spending several years learning the Cognac trade at the famous House of Prunier, Jens Reidar eventually founded Larsen Cognac in 1926.
Presentation of the bottle
Larsen XO Cognac is presented in a substantial, wide bottle with a squared-off neck. Gold foiling and a Viking ship embossed in the glass gives a premium touch.
How to best enjoy Larsen XO Cognac

About Larsen Cognac
Known as ‘The Cognac of Vikings,’ Larsen Cognac has striven to produce and offer products of high quality at selected points of sale throughout the world.
A family run concern, the story of Cognac Larsen dates back to 1926 when Jens Reidar Larsen made the move from his home country of Norway to France. Seduced by the quality of the brandy that came from the town of Cognac, he devoted much time and effort to become a connoisseur in the subject, and naturally progressed to owning and running his own Cognac house.
Today, Larsen Cognacs are as well known for their luxury packaging as the quality of their eaux-de-vie, with Limoges Porcelain and Baccarat Crystal featuring strongly with many of their premium Cognacs.
