Description

Joan Brisson XO Decanter: Conviviality in a Bottle

The Joan Brisson XO Cognac Decanter has been made from grapes harvested from the renowned Fins Bois cru. Its maturation process has seen the eaux-de-vie aged in French oak barrels for a minimum of 10 years, creating a supple, complex Cognac that expresses the finest flavors of the Fins Bois.

This release was featured in the Hachette Wine Guide 2010, with a special mention of the Cognac’s superb quality: "Its years of aging in oak casks confers its complexity, its length in the mouth, its floral and spicy notes.... It is the expression of a terroir, an appellation, a know-how and the work of time of which we are very proud.”

Joan Brisson Cognac is a small, family-run Cognac producer located in the small town of Matha in the Charente Maritime, 12 miles north of Cognac in the delimited area of the Fins Bois appellation. The family vineyards stretch from the Fins Bois to Sainte-Sévère and around Saint-Sulpice de Cognac in the Borderies appellation. Ranging from Joan Brisson V.S. to a Vieille Réserve, Brisson Cognac offers a solid range of Cognacs for competitive prices. The charming family estate is surrounded by a botanical garden full of exotic plants, open to visitors throughout the year. Everything about this diminutive Cognac producer is charming and genuine - ask for a tour at Joan Brisson, and you are likely to have a family member personally show you around their home.
