Matured for over 25 years, well above the legal minimum required for a Cognac of this provenance, it carries all the style and elegance you expect of a well-aged Premier Cru expression. A simple, yet complex release, full of character.

Maison Paintraud Frères really came to life in 1934, following the great phylloxera crisis, when Guy Painuraud began marketing his own Cognacs and Pineaux des Charentes under the family name. Since 2010, the son of Guy Painturaud (Jaques) has passed the baton on to his own sons. Today, the quartet Jean-Phillipe, Vincent, Matthieu and Emmanuel represent the 4th generation of family tradition and Cognac expertise. The brand embodies everything that is great about the prestigious Grande Champagne terroir, and you can expect nothing less than a careful curation of top-of-the-range, quality Cognac products.

This I like very smooth color is great as well as the finish, the taste is balanced but with a punch which I like in an XO. For this house not to make an XO a couple of generation back this is very carefully blended with an aged punch for lack of a better term I like! I think I will get a bottle.
