Description

From all 6 growth areas, enjoy the Extra Old eaux-de-vie in Godet XO Terre

This is a rare and superb blend of the best that all 6 growing regions have to offer. Incorporating the unique qualities of each individual terroir is no easy feat, but the master blenders at Godet, thanks to their 7 generations of heritage and craftsmanship, have honed these traditional skills to produce something truly outstanding with the Godet XO Terre Cognac.

An exciting sensory journey through the entire Cognac region, this XO boasts a complex yet distinct character, with every sip allowing you to distinguish qualities found in each individual cru, whether it be floral, fruity or fresh.

The Cognacs deep mahogany color is completely natural thanks to the three decades it has spent maturing in French Limousin oak casks, three times the required minimum for an Extra Old aged blend. The name “Terre” (earth or soil in English) is a homage to the 6 unique soils found in each growing region of Cognac, which varies thanks to variations in location and climate.

The Cognac’s age also contributes to the unique “earthy” flavors produced on the palate, with notes of leather, oak and pepper seducing onto each and every sense.

This is an exquisite Cognac for connoisseurs to enjoy with friends or family, the complexity in its flavors are easily identified with every sniff or sip, whilst the history and heritage of Godet makes for wonderful story. The expertly crafted carafe is easy on the eyes too…

In fact, the house of Godet has done this no fewer than 15 times over nearly 500 years! Discover the in-depth story of the brand in our blog article, Godet Cognac: Making history generation by generation.

Serving Suggestions

There are many ways to enjoy this exquisite XO. As it has been aged for over 30 years, its best to enjoy it neat, so you can truly enjoy the best that all 6 terroirs have to offer in one single glass.

The rich flavors found in this Cognac equally make it the ideal digestif after a meal, perhaps following a rich chocolate mousse, the earthy, leathery tones of the Cognac will perfectly complement the sweet, onctuous nature of this luxurious dessert.

Presentation of the Decanter

This decadent decanter really is a display piece that perfectly encapsulates the skill and precision that Godet applies to their Cognacs. Its golden stopper and detailing coordinate seamlessly with the XO's bright burning gold color, and its round "O" shaped design a subtle and sophisticated nod to its "Extra Old" age.

Its unusual ridges on either side of the carafe are reminiscent of the grapevines found in each of the 6 terroirs incorporated into this Cognac. The decanter's luxurious feel and avant-garde shape make it the ideal gift for someone who enjoys the finer things in life, it also comes with a stylish box for gifting, display or storage purposes.

About Godet Cognac

The house of Godet has been run by the family for 14 generations. It is a perfect example of a cognac house that deeply believes in the tradition of this spirit and its origins. At the same time, Godet manages to move with modern times, having recently created a cognac from a grape that is almost extinct in the cognac industry: Folle Blache. This cognac is called "Antarctica Godet" and was inspired by a 2-month sailing trip to the South Pole.
