This exquisite blend of Bons Bois eaux-de-vie was harvested back in 1989, and has spent at least a decade aging in a single cask deep in the legendary cellars of the Domaine du Chêne estate. The Cognac was originally developed for a Japanese restaurant in Germany but has proved extremely popular amongst Cognac connoisseurs and critics the world over, seeing it take home multiple awards. A limited edition of only 540 bottles, the Domaine du Chêne Jean Doussoux XO N°89 Cognac was originally released in December 2019 and is now a highly sought-after bottle for collectors. Taking home the prestigious ‘World's Best XO Cognac’ award from the 2020 World Cognac Awards is no easy feat; in this release, Domaine du Chêne has managed to produce a subtle yet sensual flavor profile of sweet caramel, vanilla with earthy and oaky tones, all balanced by light warm winter spices like clove and nutmeg.
This single cask selection is produced with 100% Ugni Blanc grapes, cultivated using sustainable viticulture practices and produced using traditional ancestral methods, even down to the cork used. Every aspect of true craftsmanship is demonstrated in this particular XO, celebrating the savoir-faire of the experts at the Domaine du Chêne.
The Domaine du Chêne has been in business since the mid-19th century and is located in the (often underestimated) Bons Bois growing terroir of Cognac. Their Jean Doussoux range has proved particularly popular on the market and this Lot 89 limited edition is no exception.
Boasting a highly sophisticated design, the Jean Doussoux Lot No 89 Single Cask Cognac bottle has a wonderful color palette of gold and cream with hints of red, perfectly complementing the amber liquid housed within. The design is luxurious, with a traditional shape and elegant touches to the label, including the oak tree logo of Domaine du Chêne shimmering in gold against a cream background.
The masters at Jean Doussoux recommend serving this Cognac at between 12°C and 15°C in order to fully appreciate its palatable notes of caramel and clove as well as its earthy aromas.

Located at the heart of the Romanesque Saintonge province is Domaine du Chêne, which has remained a family estate for several generations since Jean-Baptiste Doussoux bought his first still in 1865.
The vineyard now covers 80 hectares growing several different grapes, including rare and old varieties like the Folle Blanche, among other classic varieties such as the Ugni Blanc.
The vineyards themselves are over 80 years old and today produce a range of bespoke products including their "Domaine du Chêne" range and Cognac "Jean Doussoux".
