Description

Distillerie du Peyrat XO Solstice

Rated with 92 points by Wine Enthusiast, XO Solistice blends beautifully aged eaux-de-vie selected from the Fins Bois and Petite Champagne regions - and serves like liquid gold in the glass.

“The palate echoes the dried apricot note, layering it with vanilla, cinnamon, and clove with a mouthwatering finish".

Solstice refers to the passage of time and the changing of seasons, it is the rituals that accompany cultivating the land and the vineyard that should be celebrated in adoration of nature’s beauty and the transformations at work throughout the process of producing of Cognac.

Unlike bigger brands, Distillerie du Peyrat opts to do things differently, turning their back on traditional methods of distillation and developing their own trademark "fatty distillation process," which offers a rounded mouthfeel with a pleasing "natural suppleness" to their eaux-de-vie. The nearby neighbouring river provides a useful humidity to the estate's cellars, which proves essential in the maturation process to adding a level of finesse that other brands may never achieve.

Presentation of the bottle

The Solistice XO bottle has a rustic and authentic feel to it with its visible cork stopper; the earthy and natural color scheme is a subtle nod to its organic production, featuring a signature seal of approval from the estate's cellar master. This bottle would be a top-quality addition to any home bar or drinks cabinet, and its modern design would sit nicely alongside others in your collection.

How to enjoy

XO Solistice Cognac is best enjoyed as a digestif with a drop of water to fully bring out its most delicate nuances. After pouring into a tulip glass, allow the Cognac to rest for 30 seconds, letting the flavours concentrate and fully develop before taking a sip.
