Smooth Sailing with De Luze XO Fine Champagne
De Luze XO Fine Champagne is an award-winning cognac blend from a distinguished house. The cellar master executed a perfect blend of several eaux-de-vie from the highly-regarded Grande Champagne terroir, promising richness and harmony that results in smooth sailing for interested cognac connoisseurs. Its XO categorization indicates that the youngest blend in the mix was aged for at least 10 years in traditional oak barrels, which are meticulously maintained by De Luze’s Master Cooper. This edition comes with 'Perles de Cognac', a glass jar of pearlized cognac that provides a burst of flavor that could accompany any food or drink.
De Luze is run by the Boinaud family, whose vineyard is the largest in the Cognac region, made up of 420 hectares of land. Their distillery includes 41 stills, and their method of distillation on the lees requires particular dexterity to ensure that optimal structure, body and roundness of each fine eau-de-vie are attained. The Boinaud family’s ties to wine growing and distillation in the region date back all the way to 1640, so it’s no surprise that a commitment to the ancestral traditions of cognac production is integral to the running of their business.
De Luze XO Fine Champagne has reached an impressive stage of maturity, resulting in a delectable tasting experience. On the nose, floral notes of spring jasmine and medlar flowers make an elegant statement, while fruity notes of ripe figs, prunes, candied orange and crème brûlée add a rich sweetness. Notes of warm brioche and toasted oak join to add a little spice to the mix.
On the palate, this eau-de-vie is mellow, generous, refined and elegant. It possesses both magnificent smoothness and roundness, and its finish is long and intense, marked by an unforgettable richness that perfectly lingers. This eau-de-vie is presented in a luxurious bottle through which a light amber color shines, seducing fine cognac lovers from the first glance.
