Comandon XO Fins Bois Cognac

The Comandon Fins Bois XO Cognac presents a unique marriage between the robust character of Fins Bois and the finesse of Champagne. Finished in casks from the esteemed Gratiot-Delugny, an independent vintner in the southern Champagne region, this 'Single Cask' cognac is a testimony to collaborative artistry. Reflecting a harmonious alliance between two iconic French regions, each bottle from Lot #2012 is an invitation to indulge in a spirit that transcends the ordinary, showcasing a refined complexity and exclusive heritage.

It is a cask finish in a barrel previously used to age vintage champagne. This might be the first cognac ever made available in these conditions. Comandon collaborates directly with the Champagne producer for this small 'craft' production. So, it's not just another cognac or a new cognac, but a cognac that makes history with a never-before-used process.

With only 120 bottles in existence, it stands as a beacon of luxury for those who pursue the extraordinary, a single cask cognac that captures the soul of innovation and tradition.

Presentation of the bottle

Encapsulating artisanal sophistication, Comandon Fins Bois XO arrives in a bottle that signifies its rare provenance and exceptional finishing process. This limited edition of 120 bottles not only bears the hallmark of Comandon's meticulous craftsmanship but also carries the legacy of the Champagne region, celebrated through its connection with Gratiot-Delugny's vintage Champagne and the rare Petit Meslier varietal.

How to drink

To appreciate the full breadth of this XO cognac's intricate layers, it is recommended to enjoy it neat or with a slight dilution to unveil its nuanced Champagne cask finish. Serve at room temperature to savor the elegance and depth bestowed by its unique aging journey.

About Comandon Cognac

Comandon is an independent Cognac house that continue to control all of their production in-house. Their philosophy lies in uniting traditional elegance and two centuries of savoir-faire with modernity and pushing the boundaries, which can be seen in their bespoke branding campaigns and unique internet presence. Think La Dolce Vita meets Armani.

With an extremely forward-thinking marketing agenda and a particularly hands-on approach when it comes to the music and entertainment industry, Comandon have carved themselves an interesting space for a niche approach to the Cognac business.

They do an exceptional job of producing small, artisanal batches that offer rare and limited glimpses into one particular terroir, or one exceptional harvest, whether the eaux-de-vie are younger or older. For this reason, they defy tradition in the Cognac world, who believe that “older is better” and producing the same Cognac year in, year out is the end objective. Comandon instead work in tandem with nature, initiating unique collaborations for their single cask collection, and never fearing experimentation.

With a history dating back around 200 years, the Cognac house continue to produce excellent Cognac and receive top-notch awards.
