Description
Chateau Montifaud L40 Héritage Cognac: Six Generations of Savoir-Faire
This stunning selection from Chateau Montifaud is an exquisite XO that contains exclusively Petite Champagne eaux-de-vie. This is Lot 40 of the Chateau Montifaud Cognac collection, housed in a hand-blown bottle with a charming wooden stopper. Aged for at least ten years, everything about Chateau Montifaud L40 Héritage Cognac, from its aging to presentation, come together to present the craftsmanship and ancestral expertise that can only come from six generations of a family-run business. This XO Cognac is distilled on the lees using artisanal techniques, before being laid to rest in old French ‘red oak’ casks for at least a decade in the family’s Paradis cellars. Its refined flavor profile will surprise you, with perfectly balanced aromas on the nose and incredible length on the palate.
Presentation of the Bottle
This classic craft design features off-white labelling on a hand-blown bottle. Details include the Chateau's eagle coat of arms and seemingly hand-written information in a charming font. The bubbles trapped in the hand-blown glass bottle give a rustic impression to the design, a nod to the captivating quality found in Cognacs produced on a humble family-run estate.
How to Enjoy
The spicy and fruity notes of this Cognac make it a wonderful choice for a digestif to share amongst friends at a dinner party. It would pair well with a square of bitter dark chocolate or perhaps sipped alongside a double espresso. Enjoy it neat in a brandy balloon glass to fully appreciate the intricacies of its aromas.

About Château de Montifaud
Owned by the family Vallet for six generations, Chateau de Montifaud Cognac boasts 125 hectares of vineyards that are located in both the Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne growing regions. The house produces a large, high quality range of cognacs – including various vintages from years that have had an exceptional harvest. One family tradition that Cognac Chateau Montifaud is proud to follow, is that of when a new baby boy is born to the head of the cognac house, that part of the cognac created from that year’s harvest is set to one side. This is kept for a varying number of years, but may only be sold by future generations.
