Description
The Award-Winning Braastad Superior XO Cognac
The Braastad XO Superior Cognac completely justifies its ‘superior’ label, boasting a deep and complex character of dry and dark fruits with hints of coffee and caramel. It brings together the best qualities of the Fine Champagne, Borderies and Fins Bois terroirs to produce a superb and superior standard Cognac. Made using eaux-de-vie distilled exclusively from the Ugni Blanc grape variety, it has all of the hallmarks of a high-quality Cognac, which is unsurprising given that it’s a Braastad blend.
The blend itself has been aged between 15 and 25 years in the family's private cellars, which is significantly longer than the minimum 10-year requirement for an XO. This is testament to the skill and craftsmanship of Braastad blenders, who brought home Gold at the prestigious International Wine and Spirit Competition back in 2015 with this Cognac.
The Superior XO Cognac has been specially selected by master blender Richard Braastad, who hand-picked a selection well-matured Cognacs from four of the six growing regions to create a particularly complex blend. The result is a rich and powerful Cognac that is equally harmonious and balanced.
Presentation of the Decanter
The decanter design is bold and assertive, just like the Cognac housed within. Its square shape perfectly frames the dark color of this expertly-aged product, complemented by silver and royal blue details on the label. The bottle is presented with a silver stopper and comes with a royal blue cardboard case for storage or gifting purposes.
How to Enjoy
A superior standard Cognac like this should be enjoyed neat at room temperature. Its unique flavor profile would also make it the ideal accompaniment to a double espresso, perhaps served as a digestif.
About Braastad Cognac
In the heart of Grande Champagne in the village of Jarnac lies the impressive Chateau de Triac. The chateau is the home of Cognac Tiffon, to which the Cognac brand Braastad belongs.
Rubbing shoulders with other famous Cognac houses such as Bisquit or Courvoisier, the brand Braastad was created when a Norwegian named Sverre Braastad married into the Tiffon family.
Known for their devotion to the traditional Cognac producing methods, today the whole process is still carried out at the family premises, and Cognac Braastad’s products are renowned worldwide.
