Bertrand Cognac

The Bertrand XO Cognac is a truly deligthful blend of Petite Champagne eaux-de-vie that has been aged for around 35 years. Complex and balanced, it's a Cognac that showcases some of the less usual aromas and flavors, such as coffee and cocoa. The presentatio is also very special; a beautiful tear-shaped decanter with stopper and presentation carton. It would certainly make a wonderful gift for anyone who enjoys the finer things in life.

Of course, it would also make a fine choice as a present to yourself! This double gold medal winner has proven itself a stand out top quality Cognac in the finest of company. Pefect to enjoy as a digestif at the end of a good meal. And for those who love a cigar, this XO certainly has more than enough character to be an excellent partner.

Unknown brand, great Blend!

I had never heard of Bertrand cognac. Then I tasted their XO, really rich and balanced. The aromas are fantastic! The finish could be a little less punchy though. The price could be slightly lower (10% or so), on the other hand you support the Bertrand family.. so that's totally fair to pay

Bertrand XO

This cognac is complex and definitely shows it’s age. It’s very well rounded with vanilla and fruit on the nose. It is very distinct on the palate with nuttiness, caramel, and fruit such as orange bitters. Be sure to let this aerate!!! I tasted and smelled this before and after letting it sit -20 minutes, it makes a huge difference!! I could even smell floral notes that I didn’t pick up before. I am a beginner cognac drinker so I am sure more experienced connoisseurs would taste more. The only con I have is I wish it was slightly smoother. Although it has a nice balance of alcohol, there is a bit of a bite then it gets smoother. This is definitely worth trying. I would pick this over the more popular and mass produced XO’s of the same price bracket any day. I gave this to my father as a Christmas gift and he loves it, sipping this together for the first time is an experience I’ll never forget. Superb cognac!

What is Craft Cognac?
03-08-2016 / By Max For some years now we’ve been seeing the word ‘craft’ being applied to various types of drinks. Right now everyone wants to be in the craft business: Craft beer, craft gin, craft cider. The other day I discovered Schoppe Bräu, a solid Craft Beer from Berlin. So it was only a matter of time Read full article...
