From the Grande Champagne premier cru, Albert de Montaubert XO contains eaux-de-vie that are 50 years old or more. With the oldest dating from 1922, the eaux de vie are aged exclusively in oak barrels and blended for more than 48 months prior. The process follows with Hennessy-type distillation. 42° proof. Natural reduction with light filtration at ambient temperature. Upon tasting this XO, you’ll first of all notice the powerful aromas present as spicy notes of cinnamon, ginger and vanilla prevail. Next, the welcoming palate will tantalize your taste buds as the same aromas swim smoothly around the mouth. Montaubert Cognac is a small Cognac house specialising in producing, distilling, blending and then finally aging very mature eaux-de-vie. Favoring eaux-de-vie from the Grande Champagne region, Montaubert exclusively offers XO and single-year vintage Cognacs. The house also produces Armagnac, which again undergoes a lengthy maturation process. Ensuring products embodying quality and finesse.

Using grapes from their vineyards purchased in 1791, the House of Albert de Montaubert & Fils have their roots firmly planted in the Grande Champagne region. The family only harvest from their own estate vineyards, which means all their eaux-de-vie originate in the heart of the Cognac region - the Grande Champagne. Also known as the Premier Cru, this small exclusive area is home to some of Cognac’s finest grapes. It was these qualities that drew Albert de Montaubert to begin distilling Cognac and the reason why his great-grandson Pierre Barrier decided to create a brand in his name.
