Growth area & soil: Blend
The Richard Delisle VSOP Cognac is an award winning delectable blend of eaux-de-vie that has aged in a cask for at least 4 years before being bottled. As with all Cognacs from this producer, it really does represent great value for money – not to mention being extremely versatile. Offering strong fruity notes and hints of wood, this VSOP is incredibly well rounded and smooth on the mouth whilst a strong bouquet of aromas flood the senses with notes of apricot, vanilla, almonds and orange zest. A truly refined and elegant Cognac that serves as a great introductory to the brand if you are not already familiar with their products.
The house of Richard Delisle is currently run by Alexis Cabanne who stands proud as the cellar master of the company and represents the fourth generation of the distillery. He developed the trading activity of spirits on the traditional market, and has allowed the brand to progress in leaps and bounds as today Cognac Richard Delisle is exported worldwide.
Presentation of the decanter
Decanted in an elegant and simple bottle design, VSOP Cognac proves that, whilst presentation is important - it’s what’s on the inside that counts the most. Nevertheless, with its slim neck and smooth curves, this bottle will stand tall on the brandy shelf.
How to enjoy
The house of Richard Delisle suggests drinking VSOP simply neat at room temperature. To alter the tasting experience slightly, try adding a splash of mineral water as this will open up the aromas even more and offer a different way to enjoy indulging in the delicious eaux-de-vie.
