Description
Croizet VSOP Chic Cognac: Indulgent Elegance
Celebrating over 400 years of history, when the Croizet family first owned vineyards in Cognac, this is a rich and sumptuous expression to represent the House of Croizet. The award-winning Croizet VSOP Chic Cognac has been aged for well over the minimum four years required, giving it balance and a great aromatic richness of caramel, leather and chocolate. Simply sublime.
The Croizet vineyard is mainly planted in the commune of Triac Lautrait, surrounding a typically Charentaise farm located in the heart of the village of Lantin. This area, embracing the inner edge of the Fins Bois AOC terroir, lays perfectly situated on the borders of Grande Champagne, Cognac’s premier cru.
It was Léon Croizet, a descendant to generations of winemakers, who founded Cognac Croizet in 1805. He certainly had the credentials to succeed; his previous career had been as a sommelier to Napoleon I. However, it wasn’t until later in the 19th Century that his grandson Benjamin actually registered the brand and began working on exporting them.
Highly educated and a great diplomat, he brought Croizet around the globe and also played a major part in the creation of the ‘Cognac Appellation’ that was eventually brought into action in 1909. Benjamin also helped introduce American grape varieties to France after Phylloxera wiped out the vineyards of Cognac and championed building walls around vineyards, a method that protected the re-growth of the region. For his services to the industry, Benjamin Croizet was eventually awarded the Légion d’Honneur.
Today, Croizet Cognac has moved from the family’s hands to a Russian investor. It is now a well-recognized brand in mainland China and Asia due to an expansion overseen by Directors Jason Gillott and Alexander Shponko. While the ownership has changed, Croizet stays true to its global image, ever searching for innovation that will help the Cognac industry for years to come.

Presentation of the Bottle
The bold, curved lines of the decanter make it clear that this is a premium product, while the heavy base makes it a formidable bottle to hold and pour. The red and silver presentation box perfectly matches the stylish label and foil covering the cork stopper.
Serving Suggestion for Croizet VSOP Cognac
Set other Cognacs aside to mix in cocktails or long drinks; this is one to sip slowly. The indulgent butterscotch and chocolate notes make this VSOP perfect as a digestif to enjoy late into the evening, ideally in front of a roaring fire.
