Description
Couprie VSOP
Couprie VSOP Cognac is a wonderful blend of eaux-de-vie grown in the premier cru of the region - Grande Champagne. After firstly being aged in new oak barrels, the eaux-de-vie then spends several years in older oak barrels in the traditional cellars in Ambleville. With an average age of 4 years, Couperie VSOP is a Cognac with a highly original personality thanks to a fruity bouquet, combining finesse and subtlety.
The Couprie family have been vine-growers, based in the Grande Champagne area of Cognac since 1730. Putting their passion and skills to good use, the Cognac house maintain the family traditions of distilling their own wine to make fine, flavourful, elegant Cognac, for the pleasure of dedicated connoisseurs. The wines are stirred before distillation to enhance aromatic concentration. Double distillation is the focus of the brands centuries’ old craft, and the distiller’s nose is still the only instrument capable of selecting the finest eaux-de-vie. Next, the long maturation process takes place in the estate's ancient, dark, slightly humid cellars. The Cognac is aged exclusively in Limousin oak barrels, gradually acquiring a deep, amber colour and exquisite flavor.
Presentation of the bottle
Traditional and classic in style, Couprie VSOP is dressed in a timeless decanter and serves perfectly as a tantalizing treat to someone special. Its vintage presentation, despite its young age, allows this VSOP to stand tall in the drinks cabinet, alongside other treasured Cognacs and spirits alike.
How to enjoy
This young, well-balanced Cognac is enjoyable as an after dinner drink or an aperitif – either neat or on the rocks. VSOP Cognacs also work wonderfully as the key component of a cocktail. Try mixing Couprie VSOP with artisanal tonic and lots of ice. We suggest lengthening Couprie VSOP by making a Canada Dry cocktail. Ingredients:
- 3cl of Couprie VSOP
- Two lots of orange zest
- A few drops of Angostura Bitters
- Plenty of ice cubes
This makes a fruity delight and a cocktail that enhances the Cognac’s sweet palate and fruity aromas.

About Couprie Cognac
When Pierre Couprie received the distillation permit in 1750, he introduced a long history for the Couprie family. Their estate in Ambleville in the Grande Champagne has been the home to the cognac house sine generations. Like many smaller producers, Couprie Cognac uses only its own wine production to ensure and control the highest quality of their eaux-de-vie. Courpie also produces Pineau des Charentes and liqueurs to broaden their product range.
