Description
Bache Gabrielsen Pure & Rustic Sainte Lheurine Cognac
This rare single estate Petite Champagne Cognac is made in collaboration with 4th generation winemaker and "Bouilleur De Cru", Nöel Gay on his 15 hectare property near the village of Sainte Lheurine. Produced exclusively with ugni blanc; the grapes that are the raw material that come from the family-run vine-yards. Once selected, the eaux-de-vie is then distilled and left to mature in small Limousin oak barrels until ready to be bottled. 1000 numbered decanters were bottled in July 2014 at an alcoholic strength of 53% vol.
This Cognac is part of the “Pure & Rustic” collection of Cognacs from Bache-Gabrielsen. Cellar-master Jean-Philippe Bergier has, in close collaboration with experienced distillers, made Cognacs with a modern style, which invites tasters to discover the light and refreshing style of the range with rich fruitiness. This collection offers a true taste of the rural life in Cognac.
Bache Gabrielsen is a Cognac house currently run by Hervé Bache-Gabrielsen who is the fourth generation to take the ropes of the family business. Embracing modern standards, whilst remaining truthful to the brand’s traditional roots, Maison Bache Gabrielsen should be highly credited for its success with the international market in particular. As today the brand stands as one of the most sought after brands in Norway and other Scandinavian countries. With its sleek bottle designs, artisanal craftsmanship and reputable savoir-faire - it's hard not to admire this unique Cognac house for all it’s glory.
Presentation of the bottle
Unveiling its vibrant amber coloring, this Bache Gabrielsen VSOP arrives in a contemporary bottle design that is sure to stand proud on the Cognac shelf. Whilst presentation of this Cognac has been kept simple - the eaux-de-vie speaks volumes.
How to enjoy
Typically, Cognacs like this VSOP work wonderfully as a Cocktail base. So why not get your creative juices flowing and create your own Cognac cocktail. Try replacing other main components, such as rum or whiskey in your favourite cocktails with this VSOP to suit your personal taste. We recommend a Bache Gabrielsen cocktail creation “Spring Fever”:
Ingredients:
- 4 cl Bache Gabrielsen Pure & Rustic Sainte Lheurine Cognac
- 2 cl maple syrup
- Ginger beer (light)
Make the drink in a highball glass with ice cubes. Garnish with a long slice of lemon peel. A refreshing and seductive cocktail, not just to be enjoyed in spring time but whenever a refreshing “pick me up” is both desired and required.
About Bache Gabrielsen Cognac
Bache-Gabrielsen is a medium-sized family Cognac house with an international history. The company was created in 1905, and so it celebrated its 100th anniversary in the last few years. With its clean design, Cognac Bache-Gabrielsen takes an important position in the Cognac market, exporting mainly to Scandinavian countries. Hervé Bache-Gabrielsen, the fourth generation at the head of the company, is certainly aware that the Cognac industry is undergoing changes, with the international market being heavily developed and marketing strategies refined to cater for a younger, more fashionable consumer base. Given the size of the company compared to the major cognac houses, it is surprising to discover that this Norwegian cognac brand is the market leader in the sale of Cognac in Norway!
