Description
Cognac VSOP by A De Fussigny: A Rare Glimpse of Youth
A relatively youthful product for this stellar producer, the A De Fussigny Grande Champagne VSOP Cognac comprises eaux-de-vie exclusively from the Premier Cru, aged for a minimum of four years. The attractive Grand Champagne growing region is famed for delivering Cognacs displaying exceptional depth of flavor and complex floral aromas, often followed by a lengthy finish.
Located on the banks of the Charente river, the A De Fussigny estate's distillery and cellars date back to 1814, rich in a history of gabarres passing by on barges, transporting and trading the precious eaux-de-vie and wine that have made this region so famous. Their cellars date back over two centuries and allow the ageing process to take place in a stable humid environment, allowing Fussigny Cognac to fully develop the flavors and quality which represent the hallmarks of this brand. For this VSOP release, Fussigny has managed to create an extraordinary range of flavors thanks to the rich soils on their estate and slow maturation process.
With aromas of orange peel, prune, licorice and chocolate followed by an exotic punch of lime and coconut, this is an outstanding expression that deserves a second sip.
Presentation of the Bottle
Featuring the traditional A De Fussigny logo engraved onto both box and bottle, this classic, slim bottle makes it the ideal gift for a loved one, or simply an aesthetic companion to other Cognacs in your collection. The delicate handwriting style on the label assures the quality, signed off by the master blenders themselves at the legendary Fussigny domaine.
How to Serve
The warming flavors in this Cognac make it the perfect ingredient for a Hot Apple Cider Brandy, a cosy beverage for long winter nights: mix 1 oz. of A De Fussigny Grande Champagne VSOP Cognac with ½ oz. of orange liqueur in a heatproof glass or mug and add hot apple cider to taste. Garnish with a cinnamon stick, clove or star anise. Alternatively, simply enjoy this Cognac with friends; serve in tulip glasses with a slice of ginger cake or apple tart on the side to fully complement the fruity, spicy flavors of this Cognac.

A Winner For Sure
Such a lovely nose on this Cognac. You name it, it's there. Barrel spices, flowers, fruits, nuts, even some green tea. The palate is also very good with clove and ginger up front, then followed by dried fruits and citrus peel. There's a lot going on in this bottle for a VSOP. Lovely!
