Description
A de Fussigny Borderies VSOP Cognac: a Classic and Characteristic Borderies Blend
Blended and distilled using grapes exclusively from the Borderies cru (the smallest of the growing regions), this exquisite Borderies VSOP Cognac from the A de Fussigny estate boasts a floral flavor profile that is typical of its region, with subtle hints of oak. Experience supple notes of jasmine and violet, with smooth buttery notes, hints of cashew, vanilla and pepper.
Located on the banks of the Charente river, this estate's distillery and cellars date back to 1814, rich in a history of “gabarres” passing by on barges, transporting and trading the precious eaux-de-vie and wine that render this region famous. Their more than 200-year-old cellars allow the aging process to take place in a humid environment, offering a unique and high quality to every Cognac that A De Fussigny produce.
Thanks to the chalky red subsoil of this small region, the eaux-de-vie in this vibrant VSOP produce both earthy and fruity notes with an intense floral bouquet of violet and jasmine. The delicate spices delivered on the second nose are transferred onto the palate, producing a well-rounded and full finish.
Presentation of the Bottle
Featuring the traditional A. de Fussigny logo engraved onto both box and bottle, this classic and slim bottle makes it the ideal gift for a loved one, or simply as an aesthetic accompaniment to other Cognacs in your collection. The delicate handwriting style on the label assures the quality, signed off by the master blenders themselves at the legendary Fussigny domaine. The bottle comes with a traditional tube-shaped case for storage and gifting purposes.
How to Enjoy
This VSOP is best served neat in a snifter. Alternatively, the distinct floral elements of this VSOP make it an ideal spirit base to a citrus or herb-based cocktail, perhaps one integrating fresh lime, lavender or rose water. Its versatility means it could also be enjoyed neat as a delightful digestif following a cheese course.
About A de Fussigny Cognac
