Description
Pure Grande Champagne Elegance from Maxime Trijol
Using only grapes from the Grande Champagne growing region, this young Cognac features eaux-de-vie aged for a minimum of two years, elevated with the inclusion of some reserve stocks. As a result, Maxime Trijol Elegance Grande Champagne Cognac expresses the finest elements of the premier cru terroir, with calcareous soil, undulating hills and sheltered climate creating a superb balance of floral, fruity and spicy notes in the final product.
The Trijol family first settled as winegrowers in the town of St Martial Sur Né, in the heart of the Cognac region, and their history as distillers date back to 1859 when the family installed their first copper still. Initially focused on small-scale production, it wasn’t until 1962 that then-owner Maxime Trijol was recognized as a professional distiller.
His son Jean-Jacques took over ten years later as the sixth generation to run the company; he is still in charge today, helped by his two daughters Pauline and Anne-Sophie. This independent family firm has gone from strength to strength over the last 150 years - with twenty-two 2,500-liter charentais pot stills, they are one of the largest distillers of Cognac today.
In recent times the House of Maxime Trijol has concentrated on expanding their own range of Cognac, building a worldwide reputation for quality and exquisite taste.
Presentation of the Bottle
Staying true to its name, the bottle personifies elegance with simple gold lettering and dark copper foil on the neck. The accompanying cream-colored presentation box is also finished with gold details.
How to Enjoy Maxime Trijol Elegance
This is a fine Cognac to enjoy neat or with ice in a tumbler glass, but also serves as a fantastic ingredient for a French 75 Cocktail. While usually made with gin, we recommend it served New Orleans-style with Cognac:
- 30ml Maxime Trijol Elegance
- 15ml Lemon juice
- 15ml Sugar syrup
- Champagne to top
- Lemon twist
Combine the first three ingredients in a cocktail shaker, add ice and shake vigorously for 20 seconds. Strain into a chilled Champagne flute and top with Champagne. Curl a thin piece of lemon peel around your finger to create a twist. Garnish and serve immediately.
