Description
A versatile Very Special Cognac from Chateau Guynot
This award winning Cognac house present a blend of eaux-de-vie that is the ultimate cocktail Cognac - the Domaine de Chateau Guynot VS No.8 Cognac, which is also the youngest of their selection. Light and fruity, it has been carefully assembled by the Cellar Master to be enjoyed as a digestif, over ice, in cocktails, in long drinks, or with soda. In other words - it is highly versatile.
Aged for at least two years in oak barrels, they have been sleeping in the Chateau’s cellars developing their aromatic potential. Situated between Saintes, a Gallic-Roman village and Royan is the Domaine de Chateau Guynot, the former home of the Marquis de Monconseil.
The history of this Cognac house is still very much prevalent - the cooling room which dates back to the eighteenth century, stands at the heart of the domain in a wooded park. In one of the four main Cognac terroirs, they grow Ugni Blanc and Colombard grapes for their high-quality bottles of Cognac.
The chateau distills their Cognac by the process of double distillation in traditional alembic stills according to Charentais tradition. The aging process takes place in oak barrels, in the quietness of their cellars.
