Chabasse VS de Luxe Cognac
A harmonious blend of the different components of the very best Cognac growths, the Chabasse VS de Luxe Cognac has been aged in Limousin oak barrels for a minimum of two years. Showing lively floral notes on the nose followed by a wonderfully bright palate, this is the perfect aperitif for a summer evening.
Maison Chabasse is an independent Cognac house with a global depth; indeed, their Cognacs are renowned and enjoyed the world over. Their ancestral 17th-century estate lies in the town of Saint-Jean d’Angely, north of Cognac. Still in the hands of the Chambasse family, it’s run by Réné-Luc Chabasse, a direct descendant of the estate’s founder Jean-Baptiste Chabasse. This quirky Cognac house enjoys combining the traditional and the contemporary, both in the flavours of their releases as well as the packaging.
Presentation of the Bottle
The bold curved lines and embossed glass certainly make this VS Cognac stand out, with a premium appearance that belies its reasonable price point. The foil is a Bordeaux red and the elegant label allows the design to speak for itself. This is a great bottle to display anywhere.
How to Enjoy
This young blend is perfect to enjoy with a mixer, on the rocks or sipped neat. We particularly love using it in a Luxe Sour:
- 50ml Chabasse VS de Luxe Cognac
- 20ml Lemon juice
- 10ml Sugar syrup
- 5ml Absinthe
- 3 dashes of Grapefruit Bitters
- The white of one egg
First shake all ingredients without ice to aerate, then add ice and shake vigorously until sufficiently chilled. Strain into a coupette glass and garnish with edible flowers or a twist of pink grapefruit peel.
The Taste is Great
I am so glad to have the opportunity to experience The Cognac Experts. I can’t wait to experience more. I plan to introduce many of my friends to this Same experience.
