Braastad VS Cognac: Rich and Fruity
Braastad VS Cognac is a bold blend of Fins Bois and Bons Bois eaux-de-vie, aged between 4 and 12 years in the sublime cellars at Cognac Tiffon.
Exclusively distilled from Ugni Blanc grapes, this VS-aged Cognac from the blenders at Braastad boasts fruity, floral and oaky notes with hints of sweet vanilla. The eaux-de-vie have been left to mature in marvelous Limousin oak casks buried deep in the private stores of Chateau de Triac in Jarnac.
The Braastad VS earned the ‘Outstanding’ Silver medal two years in a row at the International Wine and Spirit Competition in London. Described as "rich and fruity", this Very Special Cognac is particularly floral on the nose, with hints of oak on the palate and a citrus kick.
Presentation of the Bottle
A simple, yet visually appealing, design houses the Braastad VS. The estate takes a no-nonsense approach to packaging, allowing the award-winning Cognac housed within to express itself fully upon its very first sip. The burgundy-colored cap and coat of arms complement the golden color of this VS, while the burnt orange, black and cream detailing on the label add an understated touch of elegance to the bottle.
How to Enjoy
The Braastad VS can be enjoyed alone or in a long drink, perhaps with tonic water or a dry ginger ale. Its floral notes would make it a wonderful spirit base to a classic Sidecar cocktail, or perhaps simply served over ice as a delectable digestif.
Light and fresh
Nice orange marmalade nose, before it becomes floral with rose notes. Traces of honey come through. The taste is similar, like orange flavoured honey. It’s very sweet. Not much wood at first, but cinnamon notes are dusted on the sweetness. Long and lingering. Really easy to drink. Simple, but...
About Braastad Cognac
In the heart of Grande Champagne in the village of Jarnac lies the impressive Chateau de Triac. The chateau is the home of Cognac Tiffon, to which the Cognac brand Braastad belongs.
Rubbing shoulders with other famous Cognac houses such as Bisquit or Courvoisier, the brand Braastad was created when a Norwegian named Sverre Braastad married into the Tiffon family.
Known for their devotion to the traditional Cognac producing methods, today the whole process is still carried out at the family premises, and Cognac Braastad’s products are renowned worldwide.
