Raymond Ragnaud Folle Blanche Vintage 2008 Cognac

A fine and elegant single year vintage blend of eaux-de-vie is made from a rare and ancient grape variety called "Folle Blanche", selected from the year 2008. As the original grape variety of Cognac, it was unfortunately abandoned after the attack of Phylloxera at the end of the 19th century. Now it is used in rare Cognacs and produces incredibly elegant, fine and fragrant characteristics of exceptional quality.

The Ragnuad family has been distilling Cognac since 1860 but didn’t adopt the brand name until 1941 when the 3rd generation owner first bottled in inherited eaux-de-vie under his name: Raymond Ragnaud. Spread across 47 hectares, the family estate mostly produces Ugni Blanc grapes, with a small part of the vineyards growing the more rare grape variety of Folle Blanche. Over the years, the artisanal craftsmanship, skills and hard work have transcended with time, as with each new generation of the family comes new innovations and top quality Cognac products.

Presentation of the bottle

Dressed in a traditional decanter, finished with a cork stopper and a matching presentation cylinder, mint green finishing touches make the presentation of this bottle stand out from the rest. Injecting a pop of color to the liquor shelf, it’s a unique offering that is sure to impress a discerning connoisseur or Cognac enthusiast. This Folle Blanche vintage bottle also serves well as a thoughtful choice when offered as a gift to someone who holds the year of 2008 with nostalgia or sentimentality.

How to enjoy

Having found its alcohol content naturally over time, this vintage Cognac contains unparalleled elegance and infinite depth that should be enjoyed one sip at a time. Drink neat from a tulip glass, as the narrow top of this type of glass will delicately distribute the arrival of aromas during the tasting.
