Description
Tantalising Glimpses Into the Past: a 1967 Vintage From Maxime Trijol
The Maxime Trijol Vintage 1967 Cognac is an elegant snapshot of the Petite Champagne grape harvest of 1967. The mid-1960s produced some excellent years for making quality eaux-de-vie, and this limited-edition vintage is no exception. Aged for well over three decades, each individually numbered Millésime has undergone a meticulous creation process certified by the Bureau National Interprofessional du Cognac authorities to deliver the utmost quality. The smaller of the two Champagne growing regions, Petite Champagne is famous for its chalky soils that facilitate consistent growth even during the hottest summer months. In this case, the result is a rounded Cognac with rich florals slowly developing into sandalwood and spice.
It’s no wonder that this vintage has been decorated with two awards, in keeping with the House of Maxime Trijol’s prestigious Cognac collections.
Unlike many larger Cognac houses, Maxime Trijol maintains total control of the production process from field to bottle. For six generations, this family-owned company has been cultivating their own vineyards, distilling and aging their eaux-de-vie on site. Their first copper still was installed in Saint-Martial-sur-Né in the heart of the Cognac region in 1859, and the Trijol family still maintain the same passion and independence as they did over 150 years ago.
