Description
Jean Fillioux Vintage 1994 Grande Champagne Cognac
Jean Fillioux Vintage 1994 Grande Champagne Cognac is a well-rounded single year vintage, made up of eaux-de-vie from the Premier Cru of Cognac. A fine representation of what makes grapes from the Grande Champagne so sought after. Selected from the harvest of 1994, the eaux-de-vie of this Cognac have been left to endure a lengthy maturation process in French oak barrels. The result is a deliciously tempting array of aromas that immerse the senses simultaneously - sip after sip. An exceptional value for money product, perfect for a lover of vintage Cognacs.
Perched at the top of a hill, the Fillioux family estate “La Pouyade” overlooks the rolling hills spanning across acres of Grande Champagne vineyards. Situated amongst the most prestigious of the 6 Cognac regions, the Maison resides within the “Golden Triangle” at the very peak of the Premier Cru. Combining its prime location in Cognac, with the brands authentic know-how and expertise, allows the house of Jean Fillioux to stand out as a brand offering Cognac masterpieces to be appreciated by both enthusiasts and connoisseurs.
Presentation of the bottle
Dressed in a decanter featuring a classic Cognac bottle shape, 1994 reveals an ode to wood through its design work. From the illustrated label to the matching presentation tube, imagery of wood remains prominent. Drawing character from the oak wooden barrels that the Cognac is aged within, the presentation of this Cognac hones in on the importance of wood, its use within Cognac production and the overall impact it places on the taste of Cognac. In fitting with the theme, swirly typography is the finishing touch, as details of the Cognac seem as though they have been engraved into the bark of a tree. A truly well-thought out design that serves as a stunning addition to any Cognac cabinet.
How to enjoy
Enjoy this well-matured 1994 vintage, neat - as a digestif. Try sipping it on the rocks for a slightly different sensory journey, or topped up with tonic as a refreshing, long drink. Take the tasting to the next dimension by pairing 1994 with a fine cigar.
