Description

Hine Vintage Coffret Millésime 1960, 1975 & 1983 Cognac

Hine Vintage Coffret Millesime is a collection of three precious jewels of the single vintages years 1960, 1975 and 1983:

1960

Lively, supple and well balanced, this Grande Champagne single year reveals aromas of leather and spices, alongside woody and fresh walnut notes. It is a fine representation of the resilience, hard-work and strength of the years to follow in France. With a great length in the mouth, this 1960 Vintage presents a surprising aromatic persistence which ends with the delightful taste of candied orange peel.

1975

An elegant and eloquent vintage containing dominant aromas of cloves which proceed to blend harmoniously into graceful notes of oak. Red spice nuances add the final flourish to this expressive vintage.

1983

Another, distinctive and unique Cognac, Hine 1983 offers notes of damp tobacco leaves and delicious fresh hazelnuts, alongside dominant aromas of cedar wood. Underlying hints of recently waxed leather, allow this suave vintage to stand proud as the ideal Cognac choice for the likes of James Bond. The elegance of Sean Connery, bottled.

The house of Hine:

From vintage blends, to single plot offerings, Cognacs produced by Hine share the same attributes of delicacy, vivacity and finesse. Single vintages have been a signature of the brand for decades. Each vintage is a liquid snapshot that captures the essence of a particular year, echoing the elaboration of fine wines and Champagnes. Matching such high standards is only possible in years when nature provides optimal conditions for the growth of exceptional quality vines of which the best grapes can be selected from.

With the tradition of vintages almost extinct in Cognac today, the house of Hine remain proud guardians of the casks and demijohns, that age such serene vintage Cognacs in under the floorboards of the Hine Estate, just a stone’s throw away from the epicentre of Cognac; Charente.

Presentation of the bottles

Slender and sleek, the Hine Coffret Millésime 1960 Cognac’s bottle designs are as luxurious as the Cognac they house. The classic and timeless design of the decanters, mean, all three would sit nicely alongside others in your collection. Arriving with a bespoke box, this collection of vintage classics is the perfect present for a cool and well collected Cognac connoisseur.

How to enjoy

Having found its alcohol content naturally over time, this trio of vintage Cognacs contain unparalleled elegance and infinite depth that should be enjoyed one sip at a time. Drink neat from a tulip glass, as the narrow top of this type of glass will delicately distribute the arrival of aromas during the tastings.

About Hine Cognac

Located in the heart of the Grande Champagne, the premium wine growing area of the Cognac region, the house of Hine has been producing some of the most exquisite Cognacs for six generations, when it was better known as T Hine & Co Cognac. The estate boasts an exceptional 173 acres of vineyards, and the house has a very special tradition of producing relatively small quantities - but with a very high standard in quality. One of their trademarks is to store their vintage casks in damp cellars in Bristol, England. This way, the Thomas Hine Cognac goes through a uniquely different ageing process due to the humidity of the seaside town, which differs somewhat to that of the southwestern coast of France. These highly priced vintage bottles are called “Hine Early-Landed Vintage Cognac”.
