Description
A 30-year-old Delamain Vintage Cognac from the Premier Cru
Delamain truly knows how to select the finest from the Grande Champagne terroir. The Delamain Vintage Millésime 1980 Cognac is a stunning bottle that takes its eaux-de-vie exclusively from a vineyard in Mainxe, with everything produced locally. Bottled in 2010, it is a Cognac that has spent three fine decades aging slowly - the key to a Premier Cru Vintage. The Grande Champagne is the number one choice for Delamain Cognac. The geological composition of this small area of the Cognac region is formed from millions of years of fossilization, which has resulted in chalky, fine and porous soil that makes for exceptional eaux-de-vie.
Delamain has allowed the distillate to rest for 30 years in a 350-liter old oak barrel before it was bottled. The difference with this Cognac is, that there is no Delamain-like "marriage" procedure, but the Cognac was instead aged in one barrel - and was never changed.
As with all fine Vintage Cognacs, only 720 bottles exist of this precious nectar. This edition is celebrated by Cognac connaisseurs for its slow, spicy and long finish.
How to serve the Delamain 1980 Millésime Cognac Tres Vieille Grande Champagne
Serve this Vintage Cognac neat, sipping slowly and meditatively.
Presentation
As with all Delamain bottles, they feature a deep punt in the bottom. The bottle is simple, with a sleek silver finish on the label and seal.
About Delamain Cognac
With an incredibly old family tradition, Delamain Cognac (et Cie) makes for an exciting Cognac house with roots dating back to the early 1600s! The family tree couldn't be more complicated, and yet the Delamain brand has managed to survive since its creation in 1762. This is a Cognac house that is unapologetic when it comes to quality, selecting only the very best from its suppliers in order to create its own exclusive Grande Champagne products. With the British aristocracy having influenced the Delamains for generations, their Cognacs such as Delamain Le Voyage, Tres Venerable, and the Grande Champagne Vesper - are authentically catered for blue blood!
