Description
Daniel Bouju 1990 Vintage Cognac – Grande Champagne
This extraordinary limited-edition vintage Cognac from Daniel Bouju comes from Grande Champagne, the premier cru of Cognac, and is one of only 46 bottles bottled on 5 September 2024. Crafted entirely from 100 % Ugni Blanc and aged in French Limousin oak barrels (both coarse and medium grain), this vintage captures the signature finesse and expressive depth of its terroir. This cognac is limited to 46 bottles only.
The nose is refined and elegant, with sweet notes lifted by fresh oak and soft leather. On the palate, it demonstrates impressive freshness: fig, nut, and nutmeg flavors unfold layered with a delicate rancio hallmark—typical of an exceptional vintage from Grande Champagne. Despite its maturity, the texture remains lively, supported by a long and balanced finish.
Presentation of the bottle
Housed in a tall, slim bottle sealed with wax, the Cognac is presented alongside its minimalist white box branded with “MILLÉSIME” lettering and a prominent ribbon label indicating “1990.” The handwritten-style label emphasizes authenticity and rarity, aligned with the limited-production nature of this vintage release.
How to drink
Best served neat in a tulip glass at room temperature to fully appreciate the aromatic detail and freshness. Ideal for contemplative tasting or pairing alongside mature cheeses or delicate desserts. An elegant and rare expression destined for connoisseurs.
