Soft and fresh like a Spring day: Claude Thorin Vintage 1996 Ugni Blanc Cognac
If you’re looking for an expertly selected Millésime Cognac, then the Maison Claude Thorin is one of the most experienced producers in the region. Carefully lifted from the 1996 harvest in the Grande Champagne, the Claude Thorin vineyard produces some of the finest Vintages made using traditional methods.
This Vintage is made exclusively with Ugni Blanc grapes, and the wineries that house its various Cognacs are more than a hundred years old. Everything is produced on site; from growing the grape in their humble soils, to the finished bottle.
This very Cognac has been biding its time in the cellar for over 20 years in oak barrels. It is during this time that it acquired such elegance.
The art of crafting Vintage Cognacs is one that takes many years to perfect. It takes a true master to be able to select eaux-de-vie from one harvest alone, and this one is a standout year.
We recommend initially allowing this Vintage to aerate in a snifter glass, and for the full aromatic quality to develop. Then sip slowly, and meditatively with friends and family.
It is bottled at 40% ABV.
