Description
A Millésime XO Cognac from the Grande Champagne
A powerful and elegant Cognac, since it appeared in 2013 it has certainly made a big impression. The Chateau de Beaulon XO Vintage 1980 Cognac is a stunning Millésime Cognac; it provides a perfect snapshot of the Grande Champagne cru from the harvest of 1980. The Chateau de Beaulon is enviably situated on the undulating and chalky hillsides of the Gironde estuary in the Premier Cru, benefiting from a temperate climate with a dominant exposure from the West/South West.
They also farm their grapes sustainably to respect the natural balance of this historic region. The 1980 Vintage Cognac is crafted using Folle Blanche, Colombard and
Distillation takes place with light lees using 4 small volume pot stills which are handcrafted in copper. The swan’s necks and still heads are key to the distillation process at the Chateau. The low volume increases the aromas and concentrates the floral, fruity aromas.

About Château de Beaulon Cognac
The beautiful façade and setting of the Chateau de Beaulon Cognac estate is a fitting setting for producing fine cognac. The chateau itself dates back to the year 1480, with it entering into the hands of the Beaulon family in 1510. The family name remains the same to this day, although it is now run by the very capable Christian Thomas. Chateau de Beaulon Cognac has always been, and continues to be, created purely from the fruits of a single vineyard, and is recognized around the world as being a highly desirable, artisan produced cognac.
