Description
Bourgoin La Gloire de Mon Père 1990 Cognac
Cognac "La Gloire de Mon Père" 1990 is the quintessence of the Bourgoin aging cellars and an honourable tribute to the crisis that hit the winegrowers in Cognac appellation with force from 1990 onwards. During this time, very little Cognac couldn’t be produced, as without the grapes there wasn’t much the farmers could do.
The period caused great uncertainty and left farmers and in particular those at the forefront of Bourgoin unsure of whether they could continue to live from the vine.
The small amount of eaux-de-vie that could be savored from the time, however, now beholds paradoxical beauty as 30 years later the vintage Cognacs produced during the crisis have now become the father of the current cellar master’s glory and prized treasures.
“The revenge of a son in the name of the father!”
The house of Bourgoin is a contemporary craft Cognac brand that produces atypical and unique eaux-de-vie, by dedicating its passion and expertise to cultivating the very best vines, through the most natural means possible. With a drive to re-establish Cognac within the French market, Maison Bourgoin offers a unique range of Cognac and non-Cognac products. Meanwhile, the brand boasts a strong branding identity which enables their Cognacs to stand out from the crowd.
Presentation of the bottle
This fine pale colored Cognac is presented in a modern 35cl bottle design that embodies the house of Bourgoins identity as one of the most fashionable contemporary Cognac brands on the market. The bottle's bold font with black and white labelling allows this Cognac to stand proud on the shelf, and contrast nicely against other more classically designed decanters in the drinks cabinet. The hand-engraving, by Frederic Bourgoin himself, adds an authentic finishing touch to this sustainably made Cognac.
How to enjoy
This 30-year-old vintage treasure withstands the test of time and therefore deserves to be appreciated in its purest form - neat, at room temperature. Serve as a digestive at the end of a delicious meal or enjoy as an aperitif amongst friends. Finish the tasting with a fine cigar of your choice to truly set your senses free.
