Bourgoin Micro Barrique Brut de Fût 1998 Cognac is a cask strength cognac (53.5%) that has been produced in a manner unique to the house of Bourgoin. From the vintage 1998 harvest (hence the title) from the Fins Bois terroir, the eau-de-vie is unbolended, and then bottled with no reduction or filtration. Strictly no additives are used in all levels of the production process, and the cognac is hand bottled.
As with all of Bourgoin's cognacs, the eaux-de-vie is aged in micro barrels, and the bottle is of a 35cl size. Powerful yet rounded, everything about this cognac screams its individuality, including the bottle shape and the bold labeling. A great cognac to add to your collections, or it'll make a superb present for anyone who enjoys trying the best that the cognac regions has to offer.
Very craft! With all its ups and downs
So if you want a craft cognac, this is what you need. probably one of the hottest craft products in the cognac sector... great identity and bottle, but the downside is the slightly rough taste. It's a brut de fut which means it's high proof, and it's a vintage cognac.. and craft.. and artisanal. So just be prepared that this may get a bit rough on the palate, but real.
