Description
Bache Gabrielsen Vintage 1973 Fins Bois Cognac
Exclusively made up of eau-de-vie selected from the Fins Bois region in the vintage year of 1973, this fine Cognac spent a staggering 37 years aging in Limousin oak casks.
In 1973 the Watergate scandal was in full swing, meanwhile, the first oil crisis hit the world at the same time as a roaring august heatwave in the Cognac vineyards. Undeniably, this vintage Cognac keeps all of it’s promises after undergoing such a long maturation process. In 2011, the cellar master of Bache Gabrielsen moved the precious eau-de-vie to one of the demi-johns of the Bache Gabrielsen paradis cellars in order to retain its sparkling notes of rose and passion fruit, coconut and toffee.
Bache Gabrielsen is a Cognac house currently run by Hervé Bache-Gabrielsen who is the fourth generation to take the ropes of the family business. Embracing modern standards, whilst remaining truthful to the brand’s traditional roots, Maison Bache Gabrielsen should be highly credited for its success with the international market in particular. As today the brand stands as one of the most sought after brands in Norway and other Scandinavian countries. With its sleek bottle designs, artisanal craftsmanship and reputable savoir-faire - it's hard not to admire this unique Cognac house for all it’s glory.
Presentation of the bottle
The bottle is dressed in a contemporary decanter with smooth curves and clean lines – the bottle presents an overall minimal aesthetic that will fit in elegantly with other products in a spirits collection. Topped with a cork stopper, Bache Gabrielsen Vintage 1973 remains humble to tradition while conforming to modern standards in terms of design and appearance.
How to enjoy
Take in this 1973 Vintage on its own and in all its glory by sipping it neat – at room temperature. As such a unique and complex aromatic expression, it's best enjoyed without distractions, sip slowly from a tulip glass and appreciate as the patchwork of aromas evolves in harmony throughout the tasting.
