Description
Bache Gabrielsen Dry & Rustic 1999 Grande Champagne Cognac
Bache Gabrielsen Dry & Rustic 1999 Grande Champagne Cognac is a limited edition vintage single year Cognac, selected from a Single Estate in Grande Champagne in the village of Mainxe (close to Jarnac) in the year 1999. Made up of 100% Folle Blanche grapes, this Cognac is a one-of-a-kind jewel as the grapes used to produce it are a rare variety due to the sensitive dry conditions needed to grow Folle Blanche vines. Having spent 22 years aging in Limousine oak casks it’s a well-matured vintage worth cherishing down to every last drop.
Upon tasting expect fruity aromas with a powerful woody structure and fresh notes of eucalyptus and saffron. It also reveals great length – as to be expected of a Grande Champagne offering.
This Cognac is part of the “Dry & Rustic” collection of Cognacs from Bache-Gabrielsen. Cellar-master Jean-Philippe Bergier has, in close collaboration with experienced distillers, made Cognacs with a modern style, which invites tasters to discover the light and refreshing style of the range with a rich fruitiness. The collection offers a true taste of the rural life in Cognac.
