Description
A Petite Champagne Vintage Cognac aged for over 50 years
A Vintage Cognac is the tale of a Cognac maker’s entire life works, and the A.E. Dor Vintage 1968 Petite Champagne Cognac is a fine example of this unique craft. Striving only for noble distinction in their eaux-de-vie, this Vintage dates back over half a century, to the harvest of 1968, an iconic year in French history.
Growing the finest eaux-de-vie in the Petite Champagne terroir, their Vintages were then carefully decanted into wax sealed demi-johns once they had reached full aromatic potential. Once stored in the AE Dor paradise cellar, they are left there to slumber. AE Dor are celebrated for their outstanding contribution to the world of Vintage Cognacs.
The Petite Champagne is in fact the larger of the growing areas in the Fine Champagne duo, and is selected due to the high chalk content of its soil. This makes the soil optimum for growing grapes for Cognac, as it produces the perfect acidity. Combined with the maritime climate, it is an ideal environment for Cognac production.
