Nick about the L'ESSENTIEL A12
I really enjoyed the A12 over the summer, unfortunately the bottle is empty now - but luckily I've got another one. It's easy to drink, young, fresh, ist's just great. If you disagree, then just write to customer service ;-)

Young Fruity Cognac with Good Complexity and Balance
The nose leads with ripe pears, then vanilla, green apples, lemon, and a hint of oak. When sniffing from certain angles, something bright and flowery emerges, like a very deep layer buried under the fruits. The mouth follows the nose with pears, apples, lemons, and a very pleasant sweetness like that...
L'ESSENTIEL A12
Nose: very fruity, tart apple, lime, mirabelle, white wine, a touch of fresh wood, slightly pungent. Taste: also here a lot of bright fruit, yellow plums, citrus, fresh wood Finish: medium long, very fruity, becoming a bit dry Verdict: Nice, young drinking cognac that definitely impresses with...
Fruity and also complexity cognac
The Cognac L'essential A12 is an aromatic and complex Cognac with notes of honey, vanilla, dried fruit, and spices. It has a medium to full body and a good balance between fruity and spicy . The finish is mid long and round, indicating a high quality of the Cognac. Overall, the L'essential a12 appears...
Presentation of perfume
After opening the bottle, the wine has strong fragrance and obvious spicy taste, just like perfume. After pouring a cup of cognac, the fragrance of flowers and fruits is mixed, with distinct layers; After a sip, the spicy ginger and orange flavors gradually appear, and the wooden barrel fragrance...
excellent young cognac
They would give you a lot of data, such as the fact that the vines are located in Nonaville, that this is pure ugni blanc, that the oak came from forêt de Tronçais, and that the house is located in Poulignac. Colour: gold. Nose: fresh and really very fruity. We're wandering throughout a large orchard...
A12 1st conte et filles cognac
The nose is fruitier more than anything apples and pears greet the nose, no wood on this one and just the tiniest hint of spice. This cognac is quite refreshing compared to my normal cognac choices as this doesn't have the usual spice taste compared to my regulars, fruity fresh and sweet is what I...
Very good cognac
Very fruit forward, for me it started young crisp fruits and then it open up with a more darker fruits like plumps figs some dark berries, it's very pleasant on a pellet medium viscosity and medium finish. Overall very enjoyable. Cognac and most importantly for me nothing was added to it like sugar....
Lovely fruit forward Cognac!!!
If many of you have read my reviews, you can quickly see that I tend to stick to mainly the Cognac, and not much small talk, but I'm going to add some comments to the end of this one. Young, crisp fruit greets the nose in the form of green apples and pear, almost reminding me of a young Calvados....
LÉSSENTIEL A12 - a really fine young cognac
A fascinating young cognac with a complex fruity nose without wood or rancio, very fresh, citrus notes, pears, yellow plums. Rather dense and oily on the palate, also on lemons, pears and apples. Juicy and fresh - a pleasure to drink and absolutely not simple or boring. The finish is of medium length,...
Palate: Lovely texture. Good acidity and juiciness. Excellent drinkability. Fresh and youthful but oh so pleasant. This is indeed distillate forward, not oak forward - and wow what a fruity Cognac it is! The same immense fruitiness from the nose appears: pears, mirabelle plums, other yellow plums, sweet lemon citrus, green apple applesauce. Taiwanese pineapple cake, lemon curd, both giving a pleasant touch of gourmandise. Cream.
Finish: Medium length, commendable but not one to contemplate for ages. A very inviting, cheerful Cognac. One smell and sip demands another, and another, and so on. Complexity is on point for its 12 years of age. A Cognac to drink and enjoy - the perfect “session” Cognac. A fascinating display of young un-messed with Petite Champagne character. While firmly a Cognac, the traces to some whisk(e)y is unmistakable, notably Teeling (Irish) and Aultmore.

Martina about the Marancheville Lot 14/45
Overseeing our warehouse stock, I have a keen eye on every bottle that comes and goes—but I must admit, the Marancheville 14/45 captivates my attention a bit more than others. It's remarkably balanced and bold, echoing the meticulous care we put into every aspect of our warehouse operations. This Cognac blends complexity with effortless drinkability, making it a true gem among our selections. When your bottle arrives in perfect condition, you'll know who to thank ;-) And if you’re as smitten with its flavors as I am, you’ll get why it sometimes ‘accidentally’ ends up on my desk instead of the outbound shelf!

Exceptional Cognac - Marancheville Tres Rare Lot N°14/45
Beautiful amber colour with golden reflexes. The nose is really fascinating and complex with ever-changing nuances of ripe fruits ( oranges, mangos, peaches and apricots), vanilla, spices and fine wood. On the palate there is a stunning elegance and finesse for a cognac of this age. You can taste...
Exceptional cognac
It has hints of citrus without being sweet. It is delicate, but robust enough to have with a fine cigar. It is better than many cognacs that cost much more. IMHO, 1914 is the best vintage for cognac that I have tasted. Pairing it with 1945 is a charming idea, and did not detract from the beauty...
An exceptional and unusual cognac
It’s a privilege to try this interesting and historic cognac. Very different from other cognacs I’ve tried. The nose is dominated by woodiness and rose petals. Mouthfeel is dense and almost syrupy. Palate-wise there is almost zero sweetness. Woodiness and rose petals again dominate, and there...
A really outstanding Cognac
This Cognac is truly extraordinary! The nose is a wonderful interplay of fresh citrus fruits and delecate floral notes. On the palate these floral notes predominate in a combination whith aromic oak flavors. The citrus fruits remain modestly in the backround with a delicious freshness. The alcohol...
Unparalleled
This is an exquisite blend of two historically significant vintages. Even if it wasn't great on the nose, palate, or finish, it would still be a special piece of history, but as it happens, it also delivers an experience that leaves you titillating. Upon pouring the nose is woody with cedar and...
Marancheville 14/45 is amazing!
This is probably the finest Cognac I’ve ever had. Truly a time capsule. Incredibly deep & rich aromas and flavors of rancio, dried fruits such as figs & plums. Extremely long finish that lasts until it’s time for the next sip. Incredible enough that I ordered 2 more bottles despite it being quite...
Suberb cognac
This is a fantastic cognac that is worth tasting. It is rich on the nose, you will find fruit and some oak. It the mouth it is rather tasty and has a full body. It is elegant with a good consentration. The after-taste lasts forever. This cognac delivered at least as good as I hoped for when I bought...
Marancheville Tres Rare Lot N. 14/45 Grande Champagne
The Cognac pours a golden amber color. Considering its age, it’s quite a light and fresh color. Very promising. To merely use the words aromas or smells would be to entirely understate the nose of this Cognac. Instead, one should talk of perfumes to describe all that the nose encounters in and...

Robert about the André Petit Napoleon
I like my code clean and my Cognac smoother. That’s why the André Petit Napoleon is my go-to. It’s refined and sophisticated like a perfectly executed line of code. If you enjoy browsing our site as much as I enjoy this Cognac, then I'm doing something right. And, on the off chance the site does break, I probably had a bit too much of this Cognac...

A shy nose but the taste delivers
Nose: Sweet dried fruits, chocolate, a strange but pleasant hint of diesel(?!?), this one requires patience though, also some subtle herbal notes and a touch of wood. All lovely but it’s not the most expressive nose. Taste: Powdery chocolate, dried fruit, very rich, some wood and herbal notes,...
A bit disappointing
I am a big fan of Andre Petit cognacs, but I found this one did not meet my expectations. The nose was inoffensive but nothing broke through to me. The very dark color, almost black, hid the tones often enhanced by the light upon pouring. The initial blast of flavor was alcoholic and I found little...
The Fruit-Bomb Napoleon Cognac With No Scent of Alcohol - The Real Deal
First time ever that the cognac does not have any scent of alcohol. First aroma right after opening is sweet dried fruits - apricots and dried plums or prunes. Neither my four friends nor I could smell any alcohol at all. After sitting around 7-10 minutes in glass aromas of candied dried fruits are...
André Petit Napoleon Collector Cognac
I had big expectations for this cognac due to tasting reviews because one of my favorites in palate is chocolate notes. Nose: At first it was light but as time passed aroma started to fill the entire room. Combination of chocolate and vanilla was whispering the ear "take a sip". Palate: Very rich...
J'aime beaucoup!
I'm just a beginner who's looking for a cognac easy to drink and this one hit the spot. Smooth but there's a little bit bitterness but less alcohol burn which is the one i'm looking for a cognac. Thanks for the review Kate. Good job Andre Petit and Cognac-expert for your excellent service.
Paired with chocolate banana bread!
My best friend, my dad and I paired this Napoléon with a decadent chocolate banana bread for my birthday a few nights ago. We let it aerate, and there was virtually no burn - just a soft roundness that went on and on. We got excited after the first or second nose, and we weren't disappointed. The...

Delicate XO
This cognac I haven't tasted in a long time. It is a 30 year old blend from Grande Champagne, from vineyards just south of Segonzac. The color is somewhat dark golden like mahogany. It is a bit shy on the nose, it takes time before the aromas appear. Then I find mostly fruity notes. In mouth it is...
I’ve tasted much better…
I just bought yesterday. I was disappointed. There is barely any sweet fruity notes in the palate at all. The nose was good and inviting. Remy XO/ Courvoisier XO/ D’usse XO/ ABK6 Renaissance XO are all much smoother and you can taste sweet fruity notes in those Cognac’s In reading these...
Second time is a charm
Impeccable timing from the Cognac Expert team. The XO Frapin arrived today in time to share with one my discerning friends. First enjoyed this three years ago and enjoyed then, but am excited to see the journey of appreciation that we are all on. Find this cognac to be more enjoyable now than...
Wonderful cognac
I'm a Frapin fan. This cognac is worthy of praise. Very soft, without alcohol pressure on the receptors, fruit, chocolate, sweetness is present, but not excessive. The taste is multifaceted. The drink was consumed for 4 months and observed in development. The mood changed, the perception changed,...

Nose: Rich stewed fruits such as apples, raisins and dates as well as dried fruits such as apricots and candied oranges. Heady aromas of cinnamon and nutmeg, with hints of clove, pepper, coriander and cumin.
Palate: Powerful on the palate, with sticky dates and Christmas-cake spices accentuated by notes of root ginger and glacé fruits. A rich and refined taste balanced by a pronounced fruitiness with hints of chocolate, a finish of dry spices and gingerbread lingers on the tongue.

Taylor about the Gibbon Vintage 2003
After weeks - even months - of crisp, fresh, bright summer-y Cognacs, I'm ready for something a little bit darker, spicier, richer, and chewy. This Giboin 2003 has already launched me into the Fall months. Aside from it being a seriously good Cognac, it represents massive value from the Borderies cru - and from a house that flies under the radar. So this one, in addition to this year's killer Calendar ;-), will have a permanent spot on my table this Fall. Cheers.

Thomas about the Conte et Filles XXO
In our marketing, it's all about storytelling, presenting small producers to you, and each Cognac has its own tale. That’s exactly why I’m drawn to Conte et filles XXO—especially this summer it was my go-to Cognac with its fresh, floral, fruity profile. Lots of fresh fruit on the nose with plums, nectarines and pineapple. There’s wood there too with a cedary presence like an old fashioned pencil case. And some clove rock candy. The arrival in the mouth is very unassuming at first with lots of soft fruit and a trace of toffee before the spices...
It's about the fruit!
Nose: Lots of fruit! Fresh and a bit floral - lively! Palate: The fruitiness continues, not too complex, not a heavy woody cognac - easy to drink! Or as the French say: facile a boire. A great introduction to the Conte et Filles cognac range. It's great value for money and if you can find it on...
Conte & Filles XXO
Nose: Mirabelle plums (easily France's greatest plum), other yellow plums, a splash of lemony citrus, ginger, miel de citronnier. With time in the glass a touch of vanilla enters the scene along with mushy banana puree. The fruitiness is immense, and it straddles the line between fresh fruit and stewed...
A lovely gateway XXO
A lovely array of fruit greets the nose, with orange blossom standing out. As it opens, subtle fresh pear and nut appears. A very nicely balanced fruit forward nose with some complexity. The mouth is medium-bodied, and the palate starts fruity sweet, and finishes dry with mild, complimentary spice...
Conte et Filles XXO Cognac - a young appealing XXO
Tasted from a sample of this year´s Advent Calendar: The colour is a bright straw-gold. On the nose first intensive orange and citrus notes, getting even more interesting with time by adding spicy and nutty nuances. The palate is really fine and complex on different fruits (oranges, satsumas,...
Fresh summer cognac
I haven't tasted this cognac before, and I have limited experience with this producer. This is a cognac mainly consisting of distillates from 1999 and 2007. It has been stored in old casks. That is why this cognac is rather bright in color. On the nose, it is rich and almost intense. Orange and some...

Malte about the Audry Mémorial
Balancing books and scrutinizing budgets is all in a day’s work for me, which is why I appreciate a Cognac that's as meticulously crafted as my spreadsheets. The Audry Memorial tops my list, it's an absolutely fantastic Cognac. Complex, rich, but also fresh at the same time. So, if there’s ever a hiccup in the numbers, blame it on my deep appreciation for this Cognac.

Memorable treasure
For me this is a special cognac. Years ago a colleague told me about the best cognac he had ever tasted - Audry Mermorial. I had never heard of Audry nor Memorial. So the hunt for information started. A year later I found a bottle and bought it. For me it was not the best cognac ever tasted, but it...
Audry Memorial Cognac - Quite a step up!
Tasted from the Audry discovery set, this one is really a step up from the Napoleon, XO and the Réserve Spéciale - is it the higher ABV? - I think it is part of it, as the Memorial is more intense, shows more body and the finish is also longer. The other part of this step up is the blending of...
Deliciously Concentrated
Enjoyed this bottle with friends after a holiday meal with a cigar. Amazing array of flavors come through. Lovely yet warming as we sat outdoors on a brisk December evening. Whether you're new or an experienced cognac drinker, buy this bottle!
Great value
This review is based on a sample bottle. The rancio in this cognac reminds me of the Pierre Balmain Distinction (~40 yo blend VT, bottled in the 90s). This one is more to the fresh fruity/floral side while the Distinction has more truffle buttery notes. This bottle is almost unbeatable at its price,...
A powerful cognac
This is an excellent cognac; perhaps not for everyone. The nose conveys wood and a wide range of spices, which is confirmed by the palate. The finish is both long-lasting and quite complex but, for me, a bit too dry & alcoholic. It is definitely for those who prefer power over subtlety in their c...

Nose: Complex and rich aromatic palette. Green pepper, fresh apple, tobacco, spices, roasted coffee beans, cocoa and rancio. The result is sumptuous and lingering.
Palate: Full bodied, mellow with a subtle note of anis, violet and licorice. A smooth and honeyish aftertaste that is satin to the palate and lasts a long time.
