Description

Bourgoin Eau-De-Mer Cognac

Cognac "Eau-de-Mer" from the house of Bourgoin is an audacious blend that breaks traditional boundaries in Cognac production.

A nod at the great era of the merchant navy, Eau-de-Mer Cognac (as the name suggests) incorporates the use of seawater in its production process. In doing so, the Cognac is wet with a little seawater at the time of maturation to help reduce its alcohol content down to 43%vol.

This innovative Cognac is a revival of the old times when during long-distance travel, Cognac would be splashed by the salty seawater in accordance with the whims of the weather. Standing proud as an experimental jewel that can be added to the archives of Bourgoin's long list of innovative practices - only 100 bottles have been made available to the public.

The house of Bourgoin is a contemporary craft Cognac brand that produces atypical and unique eaux-de-vie, by dedicating its passion and expertise to cultivating the very best vines, through the most natural means possible. With a drive to re-establish Cognac within the French market, Maison Bourgoin offers a unique range of Cognac and non-Cognac products. Meanwhile, the brand boasts a strong branding identity which enables their Cognacs to stand out from the crowd.

Presentation of the bottle

This fine pale colored Cognac is presented in a modern bottle design that embodies the house of Bourgoins identity as one of the most fashionable contemporary Cognac brands on the market. The bottle's bold font with black and white labelling allows this Cognac to stand proud on the shelf, and contrast nicely against other more classically designed decanters in the drinks cabinet. The hand-engraving, by Frederic Bourgoin himself, adds an authentic finishing touch to this sustainably made Cognac.

How to enjoy

This innovative treasure is a force to be reckoned with and so we suggest savoring it in its purest form - neat, at room temperature. Serve as a digestive at the end of a delicious meal or enjoy as an aperitif amongst friends. Finish the tasting with a fine cigar of your choice to truly set your senses free.

About Bourgoin Cognac

Epitomizing the true concept of a micro-artisan cognac house. Bourgoin Cognac is all about a true passion for the land, the vines, the wine and, naturally, the creation of the ultimate product.  This family run estate is located in the village of Tarsac, where this small, close-knit group work tirelessly to bring to market a small but quality range of 'must-taste' cognac delights.
