Description

A Pirate's Life: Maison Villeviert Bumbu XO Rum

Comprising a myriad of worldwide influences, the Maison Villevert Bumbu XO Rum is a blend of different maturities reaching up to 18 years in age.

Distilled and aged in Panama in an ancestral distillery dating from 1890, the rum is matured in American Bourbon barrels and then finished in Spanish sherry barrels. The imparting of flavor and aroma is therefore unlike any other.

The Spanish casks are made from white oak, and have been sourced in the region of Andalusia, which is equally famous for its sherry.

The sugar cane is locally sourced in Panama, and carefully selected from the finest producers by the Master Distiller in a still that dates from 1912.

For an entirely new experience with a bottle that harks back to the days of pirates roaming the seven seas, the Bumbu XO is a must-try.

Presentation of the bottle

A thick, high quality matte black glass decanter will certainly turn heads. The tarnished metal X and silver Caribbean map are screen-printed onto the back. The bottle has a rustic, oversized Bumbu cork that harks back to the days of pirates.

Serving Suggestions

Bottled at 40% ABV, the Bumbu XO will be adored pure, but also with a great cigar. It also works fabulously in cocktails.

About Maison Villevert

Maison Villevert has a long and varied history. The house was established in the 1550s by Jehan Robicquet in the early years of Cognac-making history and is one of the first known Cognac houses. Today the house is known as much for its Cognac as for its Vodka and Gin, with brands such as Ciroc and G’Vine enjoyed the world over. It truly is a wonderful example of how centuries of expertise can be combined with the cutting-edge technology of today to great effect.

Owner, entrepreneur, and cellar master, Jean-Sebastian Robicquet is the brains behind this innovative house. Having dedicated his entire life to Cognac and every facet of the industry, his mastery can be felt at every level of the business. In addition to creating fine spirits, Maison Villevert also specializes in packaging, marketing, and distribution and is the ideal choice in a partner for a small producer looking to take their spirits to the world stage.
