An XO Cognac from the Fine Champagne and Fins Bois
Impeccably crafted by the cellar master at the Moisans estate, the Cognac Moisans XO is a fine blend of rare Cognac casks from the family reserve. Selected from the finest of the Cognac terroirs, it is a fine assemblage of Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne and Fins Bois that has been aging for decades. This XO arrives in a stunning decanter that will take pride of place in any collection, and has an exceedingly long aftertaste and full complexity.
Aged exclusively in French oak casks, it has spent a minimum of 10 years resting, developing its unique aromatic potential in the humidity and darkness of the Distillery’s cellars. Distilled, aged and bottled at the Distillery, this Cognac is the most celebrated of the Cognac house.
The Moisans property is home to 12 2,500-liter Charentais stills, which are distilling the eaux-de-vie from the end of summer to March the following year. It is home to a vast reserve of Cognac to make sure that quality is always as high as possible, and that their Cognacs are aged to perfection. This hamlet in the Cognac region is made from the limestone from the surrounding soil. This limestone provides the best soil for growing vines, as the vines need to plunge deep in order to grow.
When Roland Bru acquired the property in the 1960s, he began a tradition of Cognac making that would be carried on for generations. Located near the Charente River, it is in a truly iconic spot. The family has accumulated a unique savoir-faire acquiring the property and now understand the nature of the soil in which their vines are grown.
Presentation of the Moisans XO Decanter
The decanter is a wonderful wheel-shaped crystal glass shape, with a silver stopper. The presentation sleeve is a gunmetal grey box, with a burgundy stripe.
How to enjoy

First, great design of the bottle. At first opening I always write some tasting notes. I'm not good at it but whatever. I have fun writing them! Nose: Fruity, floral, a pinch of honey and a spicy edge. Taste: Wow, at the first sip I just enjoyed, great taste. Second sip: sugarcoated fruit, some...
Liquor that makes everyone happy
The very attractive wine bottle has made my friends want to open this bottle of cognac earlier; After opening Cognac, I smell the fragrance of violet flowers and ginger in my nose at the first time, and the fragrance soon fills the whole room. Drink a mouthful of cognac, which is full of vanilla,...
О Cognac Moisans
When Roland Bru settled in the Cognac region in 1960, he purchased an iconic property along the banks of the Charente River - a key feature in the history of the Cognac trade. He rebuilt and expanded the Distillerie des Moisans, outfitting it with the equipment that make it an exceptional producer of fine Cognac.
Today Cognac Moisans encompasses 30 hectares of vines in the Fins Bois, with 95% of their vineyard of the Ugni Blanc grape variety.
Having been passed down the Bru Legaret family for three generations, the single estate process - from distilling, ageing, bottling and marketing - all takes place here in this small and historic hamlet.
