Eye: Fire amber.

Nose: Plum jam, mixed with the classic rancio Charentais. Eventually the aroma of nutmeg takes over.

Palate: Complexity of spices such as pepper and muscat, a roundness and full-bodied attack in the mouth, continuing a long road towards dried roses, old oak barrels for a voluptuous finale - the perfect match for a Cognac digestif.

XO Cognac Du Frolet Quintard - 100 % Petite Champagne

Descending from one of the finest crus in the Cognac region, the XO Cognac Du Frolet Quintard is made with 100% eaux-de-vie from the Petite Champagne. Aged for an average of 20-30 years, this Cognac has been sleeping for far beyond the standard age requirement for an XO.

The Quintard brothers have crafted this Cognac using Ugni Blanc grapes, which have been grown in an optimum soil environment for a very fine bottling. The grape wine is harvested, and then it is distilled over lees in a traditional Charentais style.

The distillate is then transferred to Limousin oak barrels, and aged in a wet, humid cellar. The eaux-de-vie is not reduced in any way; time and aging take care of this. The assembly of this fine Cognac depends on the 20-30 years average spent in barrels.

Produced using entirely Ugni Blanc grapes, this Cognac has been grown optimally in clay-limestone, shallow subsoils. This very environment is perfect for producing fine eaux-de-vie.

The Quintard brothers are Thomas and Bastien, who have grown up with the spirit of the vine in their DNA. They are the fourth generation of landowners, and have created a brand that perfectly encapsulates what they are about. As independent Cognac makers since 2019, they are committed to growing vines in a way that respects the environment and the terroir.
