Couprie XO Grande Champagne Premier Cru Cognac is a well-aged offering made with expertise passed down through the family-run business from generation to generation. This XO boasts aromatic complexity with strong spicy flavors which contrast delightful against subtle hints of honey and vanilla. It’s oaky character is the result of its aging process taking place in Limousin oak barrels. A blend that has been patiently matured over decades, with the youngest component spending at least 10 years in the barrel.
The Couperie family have been vine-growers, based in the Grande Champagne area of Cognac since 1730. Putting their passion and skills to good use, the Cognac house maintain the family traditions of distilling their own wine to make fine, flavourful, elegant Cognac, for the pleasure of dedicated connoisseurs. The wines are stirred before distillation to enhance aromatic concentration. Double distillation is the focus of the brands centuries’ old craft, and the distiller’s nose is still the only instrument capable of selecting the finest eaux de vie. Next, the long maturation process takes place in the estate's ancient, dark, slightly humid cellars. The Cognac is aged exclusively in Limousin oak barrels, gradually acquiring a deep, amber colour and exquisite flavour.

This cognac must breathe (not in the glass, but the whole bottle must breathe). Only then will the pepper disappear and it will taste like fresh plum and lots and lots of green apple. Very rich and it changes, playing with you every day with a slightly new taste and aroma. Bravo Couprie! I love you!
This cognac should not be drunk immediately. You need to open the bottle and let it breathe. Close it and put it away for a week, open it every day for one minute. When Pierre Couprie received the distillation permit in 1750, he introduced a long history for the Couprie family. Their estate in Ambleville in the Grande Champagne has been the home to the cognac house sine generations. Like many smaller producers, Couprie Cognac uses only its own wine production to ensure and control the highest quality of their eaux-de-vie. Courpie also produces Pineau des Charentes and liqueurs to broaden their product range.
