Описание
François Voyer Terres de Grande Champagne: From Field to Glass
The François Voyer Terres de Grande Champagne VS Cognac is a great, young blend of eaux-de-vie aged between four and six years, boasting a smooth, delicate bouquet of floral notes including linden and violets. Only the finest high-acidity Ugni Blanc grapes have been used for this blend, lending a sweet minerality. Typical of the Grande Champagne, this is an elegant expression that shows how the right Premier Cru blend can be perfect at any age, showing all the flavors and aromas that you'd expect from the most sought-after soils in the Cognac region.
The Chauchet-Voyer family have been distilling and aging eaux-de-vie in oak barrels since the 1870s – for over five generations. Focusing on the Grande Champagne cru, they work with numerous winegrowers in the area, as the domaine itself is a small-scale producer with only 28 hectares of land. They are, however, dedicated to maintaining a sustainable agriculture approach to protect biodiversity and public health and was one of the first 20 domains to obtain the High Environmental Value (HEV) certification.
House François Voyer was passed on to Cellar Master Pierre Vaudon to carry on the work of generations and maintain the identity of Voyer Cognac.
Presentation of the Bottle
The straight bottle, reminiscent of a style popular in the 19th Century, combines the old with the modern. With a classic label and gold foil, the packaging epitomises the often understated quality of François Voyer, where the liquid is allowed to for itself.
Serving Suggestion
This is a VS Cognac that can be enjoyed on its own as an aperitif or digestif, but also works equally well when combined with a mixer or in a cocktail. Try it with tonic water and a slice of lemon for a wonderful long drink - or why not try it in a House of Violets cocktail:
- 50ml François Voyer Terres de Grande Champagne VS Cognac
- 15ml Simple sugar syrup
- 5ml Crème de violette
- 20ml Lemon juice
- The white of one egg
First shake all ingredients without ice to fully aerate the egg white, then add ice and shake until cold. Strain into a chilled coupette glass and garnish with violets. Other edible flower petals can also be used.
