Описание
Aged for more than 20 years - Tiffon Cognac Millésime Grande Champagne
The single Vintage is the ultimate expression of the ephemeral Cognac journey, and the Tiffon 1995 Vintage Grande Champagne Cognac is a fine example of this. Aged for more than two decades, it possesses all of the characteristics that are so highly sought after in a Cognac from the Premier Cru; elegance, suppleness, length on the palate, and the all-important rancio.
Distilled in the town of Jarnac in the Charente tradition, it provides the perfect snapshot of the 1995 harvest in the Grande Champagne, and has been carefully selected just at the right moment - to provide a glimpse into the past with its aromatic quality. Favoring the traditional Charentais distillation method, it has been double distilled in copper stills through a swan’s neck pipe.
Lasting usually about 24 hours, the distillation cycle must be carefully monitored by the distiller. At this point already, the Cognac begins to develop its personality. The Tiffon Cognac house is steeped in history. A family run distillery, it is based at the Chateau de Triac which suffered from fire damage during the Hundred Years’ War. They managed to rebuild from this point, and now the 40 hectares are overseen by cellar master, Richard Braastad.
Presentation of the bottle
We adore the authentic ‘tasting bottle’ look of this Cognac. With a cork stopper, it arrives in a stunning wooden presentation box - a sure indication of its rare quality.
How to serve
A Vintage Cognac of this age should be enjoyed at room temperature, in a snifter tasting glass.
О Tiffon Cognac
With strong ties to the Scandinavian country of Norway, the history of Cognac Tiffon dates back to 1875. Tiffon is to this day a family run business, and is based at the beautiful family home, the Chateau de Triac, just 5 kms from the town of Jarnac. The Chateau itself has a battle-scarred and convoluted history, dating back to the 11th century, which includes being razed to the ground by fires and completely demolished during the Hundred Years’ War. Today, the family grows 40 hectares of Grande Champagne and Fins Bois vines, overseen by cellar master Richard Braastad, who comes from an old cognac producers’ family.
