Описание
A Petite Champagne Vintage aged for over 4 decades
The vintage Cognac is indeed an art form - and the Park 1973 Petite Champagne Vintage is a fine example of it. Aged in natural cellars in the family distillery in the town of Jarnac, the Tessendier family weigh over four generations of savoir-faire. This is a one-of-a-kind Vintage that perfectly exemplifies the elegance and rancio that emerges from a Petite Champagne cru. The Vintage is lightly toasted to tease out the delicately sweet flavors from the wood, such as honey, vanilla and custard.
It is crafted with 100% Ugni Blanc grapes from the Petite Champagne which provides elegance and finesse. Aged in oak barrels with a capacity of 350 liters, firstly in new barrels and then the Cognac is transferred to used casks, mainly from the Limousin forest. The distillation process abides by Cognac rules - Park Cognac double-distill their Vintage Cognacs using traditional copper pot stills of 30-hectare liters; it is this process makes it possible to obtain complex, finely elaborated spirits. This is also known as the ‘Charentais’ method.
The Petite Champagne is considered a superior area for growing Cognac, thanks to the layer of calcareous material that lines the soil. Grapes cultivated here benefit from both the soil and the composition of the bedrock, formed over millions of years with limestone and sandstone. The maritime climate also plays an important role in creating such fantastic eaux-de-vie.
The beauty of a Vintage Cognac is the power of the Master Blender to know exactly when a Cognac can be extracted from the cask and bottled directly. There is no blending involved; it reveals a lot about the power of a harvest from one year, in this case, 1973.
