The Maxime Trijol Vintage 1991 Petite Champagne Cognac is a blend of two casks, number 199 and 550, both made with eaux-de-vie from the 1991 harvest. The soils of Petite Champagne are a chalky and friable type known as Santonian chalk, and while close in style to Grande Champagne, Cognacs of this region also have a less refined and more robust character that is well suited for extended maturation. Bottled in December 2020, this limited edition vintage has been beautifully aged in French oak for nearly 30 years, resulting in an intense aromatic profile and superb finish. It has undergone a meticulous creation process certified by the Bureau National Interprofessional du Cognac authorities to deliver the utmost quality.
Unlike many larger Cognac houses, Maxime Trijol maintains total control of the production process from field to bottle. For six generations, this family-owned company has been cultivating their own vineyards, distilling and aging their eaux-de-vie on site. Their first copper still was installed in Saint-Martial-Sur-Né in the heart of the Cognac region in 1859, and the Trijol family still maintain the same passion and independence as they did over 150 years ago.
Show in a tall, sleek decanter, this release features a deep punt and foil on the neck as well as a Millésime label which lists this fine Cognac’s credentials, including bottle number and bottling date. Complimentary wooden case depending on availability.
