Описание

A fruity, elegant Petite Champagne Cognac aged for an average of 15 years

A Napoleon Cognac has to be aged for a minimum of 6 years, but as with all of their bottles this Cognac house has truly outdone themselves in creating the Michel Bureau Napoleon Cognac, as it has an average age of 15 years.

Using grapes cultivated solely in the exclusive Petite Champagne growing area, the result is some elegant and fruity eaux-de-vie, with endless finesse and notes of linden, acacia and honey.

It has spent well over a decade aging in oak barrels, and is double distilled according to Charentais methods. The vineyards of Michel Bureau Cognac are committed to the path of Conservation Agriculture and becoming ‘viticulturists’; in fact their estates are in the process of being given an HVE certificate for High Environment Value.

The Petite Champagne terroir is around 66,000 hectares in size, with more than 15,200 hectares dedicated to vines alone for Cognac production. Similar to that of the esteemed Grande Champagne, the soil is made up of clay and a more compact layer of chalky soil.

The calcareous soil is the result of millions of years of fossilization; compacting the soil in such a way that it is very fine and provides easy drainage. Combined with the rolling terrain and the optimum maritime climate, this makes for excellent Cognac and eaux-de-vie.
