Описание
A fine Grande Champagne, artisan Cognac
The Tres Rare Paul Giraud Cognac is a 40 year old spirit, making it the second oldest Cognac of the range. Its blend consists of the most supreme Grande Champagne eaux-de-vies of the collection, and is classified as a ‘Hors d’Age’ Cognac. This denominates the Tres Rare as one of the highest quality Cognacs available, due to its lengthy maturation process. The Giraud family have listened to the eaux-de-vie as they age in the cellars, waiting for the optimum moment across various generations to bottle it and make history. It is complex, as you would expect from this prestige terroir, and is the perfect hedonistic Cognac to ignite your senses.
The Paul Giraud Cognac maison have built their reputation on preserving a fine heritage; on passing pearls of wisdom about the Cognac making process from one generation to the next, in the heart of the Premier Cru. In a region that is optimum for creating exceptional blends, the Giraud family authentically master their Cognac using a technique that does not descend from assemblage. Harvested by hand, the Ugni Blanc grape rises from the lime-rich soil of the region; overlooked by the castle of Montmorency-Bouteville. The Tres Rare is then aged in Limousin oak barrels for up to four decades.
How to enjoy the Paul Giraud Tres Rare Cognac
A fine Grande Champagne Cognac should be enjoyed neat; taking in its flavors on every level, and with each of the senses. Enjoy it with your fellow Cognac lovers, with a cigar. It is optimally served at around 16 to 17 degrees Celsius. The bottle is simple and slim like all of those at the small Cognac producer of Paul Giraud.

I agree with John G.
This spirit is nice, but for its price, does not represent a value. Everything about it is light and falls short of the power and expressiveness one expects from a 40-year-old cognac. A better value is the Ragnaud Saborin Florilege Alliance. At 45 years of age, it is medium bodied and more concentrated...
Very rare but only very ok
Color: chestnut On the nose: A lovely greeting of medium intensity dried apricots, baked apples and tobacco. There are very light and brief aromas of baked pears and cinnamon also. These aromas are consistent for a long while. A bit later, I get light aromas of sultanas. It’s quickly followed...
Well done Paul Giraud
Already the first nose convinced me, complex: at first woody, later also fruity flavors appear on the nose. The taste is great, woody aromas continues followed by a long and excellent aftertaste. I'm usually comparing Cognacs in a tasting against the De Luze XO which I really appreciate. Paul Giraud...
A Real Treasure From A Master
This is the third expression I've tried from Paul Giraud and this house is firmly in my top three favorite Cognac producers. You can smell, taste, and feel the passion and care that goes into their eau de vie. As with his other expressions, the nose on this is very earthy. Lots of leather/tobacco,...
A real gem of a cognac...
Paul Giraud's Tres Rare is real quality in bottle. A clean bottlr without any frails, this is one cognac which can hold its own. An amazing blend of fruity explosiveness and woody complexity perfectly blended into one. Expect peach, nectarine and plum mixed with vanilla and honeysuckle with a long...
Paul Giraud Tres Rare
The nose is lifted, precise, and all around beautiful. There is a wonderful intersection of chiseled fresh, dried, and candied fruit and fragrant finely spicy oak - a great combo. Imagine mango, peach, apricot, and orange peel all coated in a fine mix of baking spices. I recall smelling similar aromas...
Outstanding Cognac
Paul Giraud Tres Rare 40YR is produced from 100% Grande Champagne. Lovely fruit and spice greet the nose, with some subtle tobacco trying to fight through. As it opens more, elegant fruit moves to the front. The palate is velvety with fruit and spice, before finishing with spice and some oak spice....
О Paul Giraud
The location of Cognac Giraud is in the prime "1er Cru" cognac growing area of the Grande Champagne, which allows Giraud to produce an exquisite cognac range, from a 6-year old to a 50-year old cognac. The estate is based in Bouteville, and with some additional vineyards in St. Même-les-Carrières, the growing area comes to 35 hectares. The cognac house combines a strong belief in traditional methods with a modern take on cognac production, avoiding any kinds of chemicals or pesticides in their agriculture and coloring additives in the final blends. The work on the plants as well as the actual harvest of the grapes is still done manually, assuring the best possible treatment of the grapes in order to generate the highest quality for the eau-de-vie. Also, Giraud only produces pure vintage cognacs, which means that they never blend eaux-de-vie from different years, but trust in the fine differences between the annual vintages.
