A wonderful introduction into the world of natural cognacs. Made from eaux-de-vie from the Fins Bois region, it's a beautifully balanced fine art. Thanks to the distillation process retaining the beautiful aromas and concentrates, the richness and strength of the spirit shines. The perfect example of delicacy and finesse; not aggressive, caramelised, or artificially woody.
Impressively pure vintage boasting strictly no additives. Aged in un-toasted, extra fine grain French oak casks, and never chill-filtered it is a carefully crafted Cognac. The origins of its creation are beautifully expressed by the cellar master of Leopold Gourmet: “I am so proud of the 6-year-old cognac that I nicknamed it 'Le Petite Gourmel', which directly translates as 'The Gourmel Kid'. A truly exceptional craft from start to finish.
A bottle of elegance, the tale of this Cognac is written directly onto the bottle with stylish swirl type. Emerald green and silver display fresh class to represent the contents of the bottle expertly. Housed in a clean and simple box the crispness of this Cognac and its origins are evident at first glance.
Thanks to its fresh aroma and palate, this Cognac suits as an apéritif either on its own or into a longer drink.
This cognac house has always relied on natural processes. From growing the grapes to picking, maturing, distilling, aging and bottling them, Gourmel cognac is free of any chemicals, pesticides or additives to enhance color in respect of nature and the final product. The philosophy of the company is to concentrate on quality not quantity, which means that one year the outcome may be higher than in others. This is further shown by the radical decision to produce only pure vintage cognacs, so there is no blending of different years in order to create VS, VSOP or XO cognacs for instance. To go with this authentic approach, the design of Gourmel is simple and modern.
