If many of you have read my reviews, you can quickly see that I tend to stick to mainly the Cognac, and not much small talk, but I'm going to add some comments to the end of this one.

Young, crisp fruit greets the nose in the form of green apples and pear, almost reminding me of a young Calvados. After several minutes, as it opens, subtle plum appears, and the nose becomes a lovely fruit bowl. No sign of oak or spices with this one, as it’s all about the fruits! The palate starts fruity sweet, before quickly turning dry and acidic in a finish that is average in length, and with just a sign of spice. This is well balanced for its intended age!!

This Cognac is why you shouldn't necessarily look for only highly rated Cognacs, or spirits in general. This Cognac was not intended to age extensively, and they nailed their intentions perfectly. Some may see an 84 as being average, or perhaps not worth seeking out. That is not always the case, and in this example, a score doesn't always tell the full picture.

This Cognac is also why I love Brandy in general! As a seasonal drinker, this is a Cognac that I would gladly sip on the deck in the warmer months, and save those really older, bigger brandies for the winter.
